But no one would ever report on the doxxing or threats done by aGG.

I was surprised when literally no mainstream media reported on the bomb threat to the first U.S. GG meetup.

And now we have the SPJAirplay thing, cut short, because of a bomb threat. And now, the only people outside of gaming that have reported on this (so far), is Rise: Miami News, Forbes, Reason, and a couple of other sites. That's sad, considering there were a bunch of journalists there. But I'm impressed at how Rise even has a GG section, and has written these articles.

Actually, I was thinking the mod at SPJAirplay wouldn't let anyone speak, at all, on the second panel. If anyone watched it. Even the "neutral" side, gave him some grief. But it was by a gamer and game developer. I would like to see more things like that. It's fine and all to disagree, but when people come down on gamers as a whole, you got to say "hey, we're just as good and bad as the rest of you. don't demonize us.".
I don't think he meant to do that, but he just kinda went WAY overboard, and made it more about him bickering with the panels. It was bizarre.

This U.N. report is absolutely unreal. The bibliography reads like someone never even passed English 101. Nevermind the fact that many of the sources themselves are shoddy. Just the formatting itself is hysterically amateur. Broken links, names with page numbers and no title so a person can't even figure out what the actual source is, duplicated references to make it seem like there's more weight to claims, blank lines with nothing on them, and yes, even blatant plagiarism... It's like they forgot or weren't able to finish their project on time and thought they'd just turn it in anyway and hoped nobody would notice.

Yeah, I read that report. It's fairly crazy stuff. The most egregious part was when they quoted a LaRouche article which makes references to satanism and how Pokemon and Ritalin are turning toddlers into trained killers (for real. You might think I'm exaggerating but that's in the article they quote). Although I'm not in favor of GamerGate for several reasons, I also dislike the whole "men drawing characters with boobs causes rape" / "video games are murder simulators" pseudo-progressive viewpoint. I get grief from some people I know in the indie scene whenever I criticize their badly-argued blogs or videos, but I'm starting to think I'm not the crazy one here...

The passage in the report itself which cites the LaRouche article raised my eyebrow when it said this:
"Recent research on how violent video games are turning children, mostly boys, into 'killing zombies' (118) are also a part of mainstreaming violence."
