Why the fuck doesn't the Genesis 1 have RCA stereo!?

Like, would it have been that hard to include that? They already had a stereo heaphone port ffs. Obvious stereo sound (not everyone was gonna use the headphones) would've been a great way to show how much better the Genesis was than the NES.

The time the system came out. Composite ports on televisions weren't common until into the 90's, before that you mostly only saw them on VCRs. If you had a decent stereo system then it was probably easier to just line out from the headphone jack.
