DC - Normal - sky-13 - 17,474,790 - A - 97
I need to work on chaining on the second half of stage 4, and a bit in stage 5.

Re: Ikaruga [NEW]
I just figured I actually never registered my hi-scores here *facepalm*
I barely played the game actually, but better than nothing I guess.
PC Steam - Easy - Neptas - 17,650,240 - A - [will edit later, don't remember, sorry]

And if possible, would be very cool to add the Double Play category

(Seriously Hattori, I was first for the first 3 months, why did you show up D:)

Re: Ikaruga [NEW]
Not quite my best score but let's have it here for now:
Arcade - Normal - Erppo - 25,763,420 - A - 177
The arcade version is almost identical to the PC version except for the slowdown. The slowdown mostly affects the first half of st4 which seems to become a lot easier (though there was one chain from the outer layer that I ended up skipping due to a sudden speed up making it too weird). Other than that it's really minor. I had a lot of trouble with the drone circles right after the st2 descent though since they have this odd periodic slowdown making the timing quite different. I also feel some of the speedy sections in st3 ran just a little bit slower making them feel "off" but I'm not sure.
As for other things, the only real difference I could notice is that the st3 boss spins a little differently after it activates the lasers. Besides that I feel the enemy behaviour is completely identical and all my other problems were about getting used to the different setup.

Re: Ikaruga [NEW]
Updated. Congrats to Neptas for an impressive doubleplay feat, I've added the new category.
I can personally verify Erppo's score: the RNG Gods were smiling last saturday you see. I met two gentlemen in the queue for the Heart of Gaming in London, talking about Ikaruga, who turned out to be Erppo and Saps! That paltry score by "B C" under Erppo's in his photo is mine ^_^
It was cool meeting you, man. Sorry I kept pronouncing your name wrong!

Re: Ikaruga [NEW]
OK so I've been playing Dot Eater a bit an enjoying it, but I want to make sure I've got the rules down properly here. In stage 2 you have those big cubes coming at you that you have no choice but to shoot down. Shooting them is OK as long as you don't shoot anything else right?
And just to be sure, it is possible to clear the entire game without ever shooting right?

Personally I think those crates were made like that not for Dot Eater initially but for allowing you to get through them without being forced to shoot and possibly break your chain, but that's just my personal hunch.
Re: Ikaruga [NEW]
No problem, the space is pretty small, but on the other hand you only have to squeeze yourself into it once and then only move vertically for a while, the guy in the video messes that up for some reason.
Wish I had some new score to put up here..

Xbox 360
Dot Eater - Normal - Name - 334,200 - Stage 3
Well, cleared my first goal of beating the first two stages so I'll post a score. I'm actually enjoying Dot Eater far more than I enjoyed the normal game.

Re: Ikaruga [NEW]
26,230,190
I have possibly gone full shmup
It was another inconsistent run, couple of deaths, so there's still room for improvement. I broke my chain a lot too but fortunately it was in places I could begin another chain immediately, without floundering.
Re: Ikaruga [NEW]
DC - Normal - Blinge - 27,198,330 - A - Max chain: 165
I'd say I'm nearly done, though still after that 'perfect' run to get the most out of my strats.

Re: Ikaruga [NEW]
Great progress, man, I'd like to see the run but I'm assuming it's a pain to capture Dreamcast runs.
I wish I had new scores to put up here but I hit my plateau a while so I've been focusing on leveling up my ch2 and ch3 chaining (like 72 chains before the transition in ch3 which is amazing for me), haven't gotten around to rolling the new stuff into a decent run yet alas.

Re: Ikaruga [NEW]
That's right, I don't have the means of capturing DC unfortunately. When I'm done with DC runs I might try and hit a similar score on steam, but the transition from DC pad to stick will be nasty.
Ah yeah that pre-title chain on ST3 feels godlike, ST3 as a whole is probably my least consistent section.
You've been putting work in on Bakraid though, dude! I'll definitely go back and watch your run again if I ever get familliar with Bakraid.
