Got tired of my ISP supplied modem/router being worthless, switched it to pure modem mode and stuck one of these in. Asus RT-AC3200. We've had loads of problems with bandwidth in my area so I can set the connection speed low in this and use QoS to at least give streaming and the PS4 priority over what we do have.
Nice, I got the Asus RT-AC68U myself. AC wireless is the shit.

It already paid off tonight - virginmedia connection went to shit again (10mb of 120 sold) and using the QoS stuff I was able to keep playing the CoD beta.

Did you pay like x4 the normal price just because these were sealed? Or did you score a killer deal?

For a while I've wanting a bartop/tabletop arcade in the form of a Japanese arcade machine. Finally found a guy who could do it. Complete scratch build from wood... a custom SEGA Astrocity style bartop/tabletop machine!

Loaded with an SLG for scanlines, audio amp, Hyperspin front-end, etc. Built by Rob of Muti Game System (MGS Arcade), he did an amazing job. The details and quality is amazing. Even the inside is beautiful (as posted by his progress pics on Instagram and Facebook) The build took over 6 months, but was totally worth it. Even the joystick panel can be detached and used as a PC/PS3 joystick! There is even an HDMI out and easy to acces USB ports on the rear.

Unfortunately he is currently not taking new orders until he finds a way to produce them faster. Though I'm on the list for his NeoGeo styled bartop ;) However check out his awesome work here:

He even made a big ol' crate to ship it. Very well packed.

Dear God. That is absolutely gorgeous custom work. I was actually and had to re-read and investigate the link to make sure I was looking at what I thought I was looking at. Incredible!

Thanks, yeah sometimes I just stare at it lol. He did an utterly amazing job.

It's a 15" 4:3 LCD. I tried to get him to design it such that it can be easily tated, but it's so tight in there it wasn't possible to have such a mechanism. Gotta open the front and manually re-seat the monitor.

Awesome piece of craftwork, but I would prefer a proper Jamma setup and more room space to store a real arcade board in the bartop cab !

Already got Da! via Deluxe Pack on Saturn, but heroic and sharply presented contemporary console conversions are a weakness of mine.

Haha, that was indeed pretty cool! Could see how it'd be relaxing to play a KT-style "fast aimed shots" STG with that. Very neat bit of gear too, as to be expected from X68k peripherals.

It was not cheap, but not as expensive as the insane prices asked by some assholes on eBay.

Well it's a Kickstarter that won't be here until next year, but as a fan of Art Deco watches, I couldn't resist burning a few PCBs to cover this:

The movement will be a restored Waltham or Elgin pocket watch one, they're usually quite nicely decorated.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Bunch of stuff. Sorry for the long post.

Picked up King of Tokyo on sale at Target.

Picked up the Sloth card from Cards Against Humanity.

I went a vacation to visit my family and attend a wedding in Connecticut. Also went to NYC.

First up I got these at Video Games New York. $35 for NeoXYX, $80 for Caladrius, and $30 for Project Diva. Wish I bought a few games thay had broke street date on but i guess its ok. I can wait.

Image

Next in NYC I visited the Ghostbusters firehouse.

Went to the 9/11 memorial. Last time I visited this area it was still smoking and debris was still everywhere. Very sad but a very moving and well done site. The 2 reflecting pools where the exact location of each tower and had all the names of people that lost there lives etched around the boarder.

Then I ate a bunch of food in CT. Love the seafood there. Went to Dads Seafood in Niantic, CT. Lobster rolls, Lobster mac and cheese, and lobster fritters, clam chowder. Out here in Seattle we have a ton of seafood but lobster is almost non existent. It is like $40 /lb. so when I visit the fam in CT i ALWAYS stuff myself with lobster since it is so cheap.

That boxart... I mean, really. Is this a Japanese idea of a non-Japanese idea of looking cool showing? Reminds me of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. I've felt alienated by so many character designs that gen I consider it the benefit of the inventory nowadays, just waiting for the tide to turn, but still...

I liked Nier screenshots; looked like more than the sum of its parts, something alternative. It's just that on the boxart, the playable character hogs the spotlight and I'm, like, oh dear.
(S&P2's protagonist occupies much smaller part of the frame, but enough to make me feel awkward about the cover. Even his boots are in the picture!)

Did you know they actually have a totally different looking main character for the Japan PS3 release.
