Since I couldn't find an existing thread for this awesome game I decided to create one.

Every version of the game plays the same but the SFC version is highly recommended due to the great solemn soundtrack which was replaced by terrible noises in the western releases.


Rules: one credit only, default settings.

Look at it from this side: you were able to save the galaxy while listening to sounds that are obviously against international law. How heroic is that? I wouldn't be able to clear the game with the western soundtrack in place, that's for sure. :mrgreen:

the messed up thing is that us/eu has something good going but prematurely jumps off a cliff so it ends up more repetitive than the original music

I tried playing this a few months ago but I absolutely just hate the game itself. Never quite figured out how to manage throwing the shield either.

Still, It's better than D-Force for SNES 8)

Exceptional performance, pegboy! I tried to beat the game without dying myself but I always mess up somewhere. Does your strategy against the second boss and its cousin in the fifth stage work reliably? I invariably get whacked by one of the arms when I decide to just sit in one place.

Personally, I am usually fine sitting in one place, though some thought is needed on when you fire GAM at the boss in order to shield yourself from the fire blasts. For the re-match in stage 5 I actually usually get killed while he's exploding (!) because the arms still wiggle around and he gets closer to the left of the screen.

Actually I did die from the second boss a few times using that strategy, although I'm guessing you can time the GAM right so you will never die, I think his shots come out at fixed intervals. I actually think the 5th stage mid-boss is easier than the stage 2 boss, his shots are easier to block and dodge IMO. Also, I always keep my shield up and continue firing after he has died to prevent his attacks post death.

Also, I've only played the US version so I'm not sure if it's exactly the same as the SFC version.
