Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
So am I the only one that felt just a little bit disappointed overall with agdq this year?
Like, it definitely had a lot of stuff I enjoyed, but there were wayyyy too many races and RPG runs (which bore me to tears) for my tastes.
That, and they still can't seem to figure out how to have another setup ready to go when its time to switch games, which always ends up with some awkward delay or technical difficulty, which is a bit annoying.
Also, they really need to learn how to use screen space more efficiently. It's watchable yeah, but personally, I find it totally unnecessary to have the camera showing the person playing on 100% of the time, it'd be nice to have the actual games take up a little more space, and perhaps reorient how their sponsor banners and such appear so there isn't just lots of empty space so often.
Like I said, it certainly had stuff I liked (Tetris TGM hype holy shit) and obviously not every run is gonna appeal to everyone, but I found the abundance of races just distracting to some games I really wanted to follow (MMX as an example), and I honestly do not understand the appeal of RPG runs.

Races are the most interesting part IMO. Adds a competitive element to it so its not just an exhibition of game breaking that we've seen again and again. Like, not sure what doing away with the race would have added to MMX, that game is pretty straight forward in terms of speed running.

Races were definitely one of the best parts of this AGDQ. The Ninja Gaiden relay race was hype as hell.

Hey glad you enjoyed! I died at least once when I shouldn't have because I was too focused on commentary, so I'm glad at least someone got something out of my commentary.undamned wrote:AVP was very informative. Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
since this is all bullshit I thought I'd take a moment to clear some things up. Every one sure does love spreading rumors about me and my fiance and every thing. So Ill just tell you the whole thing to dispel all the twisted bullshit. When she started streaming she did in fact have a boy friend. The relationship was not well. She never had any thing on her social media about him being the one. Their relationship was over. She left to go back to her home state. We met up and started dating. I've never worked at burger king. Ever. So I have no idea where you got that. I started working when I was 18. My first job was in home sales. I did that for years. Then around age 24 I actually became a teachers assistant at a private school. After that I was a security guard at a hotel and between the ages of 27-28 I was a Dealer at a Casino. Where the fuck you guys got burger king from I'll never know. I quit that job and have been doing the in home sales gig ever since then. Ive also have been hired at a finance company and have applied to some other places as well...ryu wrote:The more you hear about them the worse this gets. Last time I read about that couple people claimed the guy messaged girls on twitch asking them to date him, and his current gf is the only one who eventually unblocked him and went for it. As you implied, they've also only been together for like half a year.DoomsDave wrote:A little back story on Jackafur(the guy that proposed) and Kittyrawr(the girl). So when she started streaming, she had a boyfriend who she claimed was "the only one" and "love of her life" and had it written all over her profile and social media etc. She broke up with this dude in August 2014 and starts dating Jackafur. Jackafur used to complain on stream all day about his ex girlfriend leaving him, being a degenerate and not having a job until recently when he found one at the age of 27 years old at Burger King. He really doesn't have much going for him and she is still very young. There's a running bet that this gets called off before the next GDQ.
As Far as me trying to "date" other women by "asking them to date me" on other streams I'd like to clear that up as well. I've jokingly gone to girls streams and jokingly asked them to go on a date to applebees with me until I got banned. Again it was a fucking joke. I did the same thing to lilly, yes. However I made an actual effort to get unbanned cause I actually liked her stream. Then we started talking. She moved back home because she was done with her last b/f. We met up and started dating.
I dunno why people are twisting this shit up so bad. You dont have to believe every bullshit story you hear out peoples mouths.
edit: oh btw https://i.imgur.com/on6ZIUK.jpg heres a pic of me totally trying to ask girls out in a totally serious manner on twitch.

Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
Well since this thread is back on page 1, I have to ask: what happened to Mike Uyama? Before AGDQ there was something about him being sick and he's been MIA (on SDA at least) for almost a year now.
Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
Mike is still absent and replaced by some other guy due to sickness, apparently. At least that's what the site for the upcoming SGDQ says.

Changed the thread title, since I suspect this will get used for SGDQ discussion as well.

It is indeed and he's been getting some great runs in practice on twitch so looking forward to that.Blinge wrote:

Re: AGDQ/SGDQ 2015 Thread
I enjoy tuning in to see the social awkwardness, but by the end I was getting worried for the guy and everyone around him. That situation maybe made him worse than he normally is, but dude needs help.
They banned his twitch channel, though, so that should cheer him up.

nice job aquas!
Re: AGDQ/SGDQ 2015 Thread
Aquas smashed that run, sub 17 nice!
Re: AGDQ/SGDQ 2015 Thread
Aww man they switched up the schedule earlier and I missed it. Wanted to see the chat reaction.
Caught up now. Awesome run, Aquas. The couch crew were cool for this run aswell, probably the least cringey i've seen so far!

Chat seemed to be in love with one of the commentators.
Re: AGDQ/SGDQ 2015 Thread
That TGM play tonight was pretty sweet. Shame to have missed Aquas' GnG run. Have caught quite a few of his practice sessions in the past, great stuff.
Re: AGDQ/SGDQ 2015 Thread
Pretty pissed off that Spica Adventure was run on the TypeX crack and not a real TypeX. They obviously had setups for TypeX given TGM3 was on, so there's no excuse.
TGM block was great, need to go back and watch Aquas's GnG and iast's Dungeon Magic runs.

Before the YouTube VODs pop up, here are the timestamps on the Twitch archive for:
Aquas's GnG run
iast's Dungeon Magic run
TGM block
Congrats on a job well done!

Re: AGDQ/SGDQ 2015 Thread
The Binding of Isaac rebirth run was pretty funny. The guy took himself wayy too serious throughout, and left his steam account on. Once a notification popped up the stream caught on. Suddenly friend request/group invite notifications by the hundred keep popping up on screen.
It was more entertaining than the whole run.
The runner was not amused. Between floors he tried to put steam into offline mode, Didn't work. Later he tried turning steam overlay off but this didn't work either as the game required a reset or something. SGDQ themselves put a blue box over the area in which the notifications kept popping up so the stream couldn't see them, which is kinda useless as the runner could still see it. Eventually he restarted the whole game to get rid of it.Kappa has sent you a friend request.
It was more entertaining than the whole run.
