There's not much overhead with a digital distribution site. I wonder what went wrong. The itch.io guy seems to be doing really well.

I'm reading the staff was laid off and no one is running the site?

There was a post on Desura saying something about their payment person was in the hospital 2 weeks ago. Now bankruptcy. I think the hospital thing was a lie.

Thanks for the heads-up. I had bought a few games there that I don't have anywhere else (not sure if they even are available anywhere else), so I have them safely tucked away now. Others seem to have had the same idea, as I got horrible download speeds. Took me over an hour to download ~100 MB...

Yeah, the site was mostly garbage with the exception of Dominons 4 and Valkyrius. Thanks to the heads up my copies are now sitting safe in a DVD-R.

The site still has new games, when someone on the forum said everyone was laid off. Perhaps the games are just automatic to come out on specific days.
