Hoping that this is a Steam/PC platform "trial balloon" for Triangle Service may be hoping for too much. A Pocket PC (Windows Mobile) version of XIIZEAL was released end of 2006 (and there was a Windows 95 PC demo of XIISTAG Limited in 2005) - so it would make sense to choose XIIZEAL for a Steam refit rather than porting any of the other games.

After the SL200X localization, I knew it was only a matter of time before Triangle Service appeared on Steam. Not sure why they're no longer self-publishing outside Japan if they could do it on 360.

If they're only releasing XIIZeal standalone instead of porting over the full 10th Anniversary collection, they've probably decided to trickle out individual games every few months or so for as long as they keep selling and the company breaks even. Not that I personally wouldn't pay more (I preordered the limited edition of 10th Ann. on 360), but I don't have much hope for this game's prospects with the Steam crowd if they charge more than five bucks. If they force the original control scheme, people will write it off as a stick-destroying endurance test; if they keep the side shot autofire button, then people will deride it as shallow and simplistic.

Shooting Love Trilogy on Xbox One is likely vaporware at this point. I can't blame Fujino anymore for chasing the gaijin retrohipster market on Steam anymore, they're his only remaining opportunity for making enough money to keep the operation afloat.

I don't recall HARD being the default setting for XIIZeal ever and noticing missing emulated slowdown here. Glad to see all the support that the 360 version had and more with regard to rotation/controller support though, I'll definitely be making a purchase for this.

The default setting should be Normal. I had been playtesting the different modes in the game and forgot to return the settings to their defaults before starting the preview. Oops!

Now that I think about it, the left/right wiggle would be a lot easier on a keyboard since I'd have a dedicated finger on each of them. But yeah, I'd end up just using the auto button anyway.

Looks like the frame rate is actually much smoother than it is in mame!

Unfortunately I just dropped $100 in the past few days ($20 of which was on Shooting love 200x coincidentally), so I'm probably going to wait a bit before buying in the interest of not getting too crazy with my spending.

Are you launching with any sort of mild discount for early birds? Your timing is questionable, as you're launching right before a rumored Steam Summer Sale. People tend to go into wait mode b/c there are so many deep discounts to be had.

We're not going to burn early adopters. Although I can't confirm when the summer sale is starting, the summer sale discount for XIIZEAL will not be greater than XIIZEAL's launch discount.
