Its a fucking joke... I was too uninformed to realize how unfriendly he is. It will probably only be seen by those select few.

Hm?

SOF-WTN is a nice guy. Now I didn't mean to get everyone's hopes up, as I'm not friends with the man and can't just phone him up for a DVD, but I was at an arcade he frequents and a friend was talking with him and told him everyone wants to see videos of Donpachi and he said he just didn't know how to upload stuff online but he wouldn't mind sharing. The next time I go to that arcade, I'll try talking to him.

I mainly just wanted to clarify that SOF-WTN isn't at all the secretive, unapproachable character he has been portrayed as.

It could easily be he's just not comfortable or familiar with recording technology, especially depending on how he's got his replays stored.

I guess he is playing at those arcades where they have equipment for recording the runs on DVD.

Sorry to jump the gun there, I re-read your previous posts related to donpachi.
NTSC-J wrote: No, I always leave these guys alone. The only thing I would ask WTN would be to release his DonPachi replays, but I imagine he would decline. He doesn't have a real great reputation in terms of being a friendly guy.

Didnt seem very promising...

If this is true, this is great news. Someone should get on it if the opportunity is there.
Send it to Icarus? Send it to me? Send it to anybody? As long as the footy gets out there.

Sorry to bump after over 2 months but tbh this just sounds like the normal Japanese cop out excuse. What he really means is that he does not want to share the video at all and this is the way he tells people so they do not get offended. They do this alot. I have heard "Oh I watched the video but I already deleted it, sorry".

I could be wrong but that's what it sounds like.

Thanks for the replay, nice stuff. :)

Are you going for a higher score and chaining or did you just want to complete the game with type C?

Do not, maybe. However, because of I didn't get the high bomb capacity in 2-1, when I get them, I will be able to get higher score than it which is recorded the C type movie yesterday.

Your death on 2-4 at around 17 million was funny to watch. It must have been quite a shock to see that suicide bullet track you down like a homing missile. The dodging on the rest of 2-4 was extremely impressive. That was great playing! Thanks for the replay.

I also recorded the video which is Donpachi B Type All clear movie.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDs3kD3RpR4

However, I think that my playing was absurd. My play was bonehead play about the flight was crashed by easy part.

Therefore, I tried to play for recording movie one more time, but I wasn't able to it and gave it up.

I finally beat the game (well, first loop :D ) !

Played on the PCB, japanese version :

Now that we know NAL is still playing the game and recently scored 60m, anyone want to contact him to see if he will upload a video to youtube or nico? I am offering a small bounty to anyone who can help get it done:

Of course, the score I improve on is the one where I die three times in Stage 4 then have a nearly perfect stage 5 run. Gah, why do I keep dying so regularly like a moron in Stage 4?!

ImageImage

BareKnuckleRoo (previous entry is under BKR) - 8,374,640 - 2-2 - Max Hit: 61 - Type B

edit: Minor improvement, still can't no-miss to stage 5, but I got there with only one death. I then lost a ton of resources as I generally screwed it all up and entered the loop with no extends :/

It feels wrong to post a high score without the proper video evidence but I guess I will post this for completeness sake.

Yes, I will still keep trying to get higher scores.

Hi all,

Three of us in Chicagoland are going for a 2ALL on Galloping Ghost Arcade's Donpachi cab (Japanese version). Current high scores are:

I will try to post links as the three of us stream at the arcade. We are hoping to finish the 2ALL in advance of this year's T20 tournament at GGA in October.

Current arcade DonPachi JPN update at GGA (all with Type C):

Matt (bestcellar): 23,578,140 2-4 (have gotten to 2-5 with a lower score) set 9/22/16
Jamie (Dr. Sage) 21,486,750 2-4 set 9/12/16
Fred (backdoorfred) 21,340,430 2-4 set 8/30/16

if we weren't being stupid and constantly going for score maybe one of us would have 2-all'd the thing by now.

Got the 2-1 bomb capacity bonus. Very disappointing run though. So much so I didn't use my typical initials.
