Does anyone know what happened to newStage? It's been down for a while now.
I miss this cool source for homebrew Jap STGs : (

Yeah, they are definitely aware of us but don't seem to give fuck. I wonder if they have an account here...

The owner of the site said he didn't change anything but talked about htaccess blocking baiduspider.

Kind of tiresome. I'm tempted to block them clicking through to here via referrer fields, redirect to a message explaining why.

Do it. If the IP blocking is intentional, fuck 'em. If for whatever reason it's unintentional and they're seriously unaware of us being able to access it due to the 403 errors, it'll at least be a way of getting them aware of it.

I checked their bbs earlier today, and looking over the recent messages posted, it seems like it's an issue with their web hosting that blocks overseas traffic - the owner did not block foreign traffic intentionally, nor was he aware that foreign traffic was being blocked. He also apologized to the shmups forum (to this thread specifically), but he presently can't do anything about it.

The RSS feed (http://stg.liarsoft.org/rss.xml) seems to be entirely uninfluenced, although if the IP blocking is active, none of the links will redirect properly - but at least the RSS feed itself will still be accessible.

Worked for me before, didn't work yesterday, now works again.
They must be having some problems and that's it.

Thanks Elixier! I'm glad it wasn't intentional. Currently the site works for me again. Let's hope it stays that way.

Kind of a belated update, but newStage is no longer displaying 403 forbidden on my own end. I also checked with a friend, and it isn't displaying forbidden on his end either.
