Thanks for that. ^_^

Didn't know Sakimoto did bits of Batrider as well. And Motoyama doing both Bakraid and Great Mahou sort of explains why they sound so similar. The same five names appear in all of their back catalogue, so Raizing must have really liked their output to stick with them. (I can see why, their OSTs are brilliant.)

Who did Brave Blade, though?

Anyway...
...
Shinji Hosoe (part of Super Sweep) - Cave / G.Rev (Usually does remixes of original tracks for OST collections)
Major props to Shinji Hosoe!, ..though not a traditional shooter, Assault has a phenomenal soundtracks, even to this day.
And of course his more recent work as producer of the Border Down soundtracks can't be overlooked.

Namiki is the only composer name I recognize from Brave Blade's staff roll, but it was not necessarily him. The staff list does not mention who did what and it's possible he just assisted or did sound effects. Either way, it's not listed on his website, so maybe he's not too proud of it? :)

(or also maybe he didn't compose it)

Yasushi Kaminishi - Gigawing (w/ Masahiro Yuge), Gigawing 2, Mars Matrix, Night Raid (w/ Robert Prince), Gigawing Generations (?)...surprised he isn't in this thread, especially since Rob created it. :O

Harumi Fujita, Seisuke Ito - Blazing Star

Tetsuro Sato (WASi303), Misako Sekiguchi (ADJUMY), Yuki Yoshino (Emagicker), Takashi Egawano (ORE808"), Kazumine Tsushima - Psyvariar, Psyvariar 2

Aki Hata - Bakuretsu Muteki Bangaioh [Bangai-O]

Haruhiko Kuroiwa, Eisaku Nambu, Hirosi Ebihara, Keiji Ueki - R-TYPE Delta

Yuki Iwai - R-TYPE FINAL

I would like to know though who composed the BGM for Triangle Service's shmups, XIISTAG and Trizeal.

As for Shinji Hosoe, although his work is awesome in every sense of the word, I'd like to hear more BGM of his done in the Sampling Masters style.

Not in the thread, but in my heart. And my Audioscrobbler list. GW2 is the only shmup-ost I've got on the computer. I need to get a few of the others, though.

akira satoh - raiden series (incl. fighters)
Gou Sato - viper phase 1
Same guy. Also, he's only responsible for the first 2 games in the Raiden Fighters series. RFJet was Yasuhiro Hashimoto, I believe.

Nobuyuki Shioda - Recca. Pretty sure that's the only shmup he ever did. He has a weblog. 98% of it's in Japanese.

Gominolas

He was the guy behind the music of nearly every Topo Soft game released on the Amstrad CPC, Spectrum and MSX, and there are a few shmups in there: Stardust, Silent Shadow, Ice Breaker at least.

I'd like to know more about Daisuke Nagata, Kou Hayashi, Katsumi Tanaka - Zanac Neo composers.

edit Nagata+Hayashi are on Chaos Field, good to know.

And also "Takeuchi, Nagao" that according to Galbadia Hotel are responsible with Tanaka for Space Megaforce / Super Aleste soundtrack. Was this ever released on cd?

So far, the only clue I've got is this site: www.katsumi.com

edit: Tanaka also partially on Robo Aleste.

Has Yasushi Kaminishi done anything aside from/after the Takumi shooters? GW2 is the best.

Sheep (ひつじのキモチ) and Otenki Kororin (ねんど玉パズル お天気ころりん) are the only others I can find. Neither are shooters, but Otenki Kororin was developed by Takumi.
