Gradius 6 by Treasure, featuring no mid game cutscenes
A new Shinobi like the PS2 Shinobi's
A Resident Evil reboot that plays like 4 meets 1 & only rehashes the element of Umbrella Corporation
House Of The Dead 5: back to the real series
Planet Harriers PSN
Interstellar Assault PSN
Castlevania: Lords of Ignoring Mercury Steam's entries happened
RockSmith for keytars
A gritty Rainbow Islands reboot where it's always gray and Bub & Bob are a couple of ripped hackers. You rob banks to afford chain guns you need to kill aliens who've made a deal with terrorists and the game allows you to f*ck anything through context sensitive conversations. It's a first person shooter that plays itself & has 16 hours of cutscenes. I don't want to even have to pick up the controller.

Re: Games you are looking forward to in 2015
2015, the year of backlog clearing. There's just Resi Revelations 2 on the horizon for anything I own. But I have some 360 games from xmas and GoG just got more Star Wars games so....
No Man's Sky looks incredible (and will sound incredible now 65daysofstatic are doing the score), but chances are my ageing PC won't be able to run it so does that mean buying a PS4? Urgh, I hope there are more games for it then. Or it goes to xbone eventually because xbone is vaguely where all the shmups are headed.
I'm also resigned to getting a WiiU at some point for Xenoblade X and Bayonetta 2. I reckon that'll come before the other consoles a) come down in price enough b) actually get exclusives

Re: Games you are looking forward to in 2015
I bought this at release here in Japan and was extremely disappointed by it. I think the first 2 are excellent horror adventure games that suffer heavily from their moe content (usually I don't mind moe but it doesn't work for this series) but manage to overcome it. The good definitely outweighs the bad. But I feel like Blood Covered has turned the weeaboo bullshit up to max and I've had a whole lot of trouble getting into it. Despite paying a lot for it I only played it for a few hours before forgetting about it and playing better stuff.iconoclast wrote:Corpse Party: Blood Covered

For a serious post...It sounds like The Evil Within is pretty good. I would like to clear some old backlog and find some new-old-games to check out too. In terms of unreleased stuff, there's Bloodborne and maybe something else. I don't know. I'd like Bloodborne on PC, especially considering that I'm looking forward to some rendering + display grunt in this year. But I do get the overwhelming feeling it'll be "all painted up and nowhere to go." The fuck I'm supposed to care about Sequel 5 of Game That I Played Once 10 Years Ago

Re: Games you are looking forward to in 2015
There isn't that much on the horizon for me to look out for. Some of those titles aren't actual 2015 releases, though:
Resident Evil Revelations 2 = A new Resi game. I'm sure it won't have the godlike controls/combat of RE6, but hopefully the former's campaign won't share some (most) of the retarded design decisions of the latter. Raid Mode seems to be more RPG-ish than before, something that's definitely not my thing. Give me a survival-oriented Mercenaries-like mode (where the game overwhelms you with tons of enemies on screen – not unlike No Mercy mode – and it's only over when you die, removing the time-based structure of classic Mercenaries) with no level-up/exp.point crap.
Mortal Kombat X = By far and away, it's shaping up to be the best MK game, gameplay-wise. The kombat itself looks faster paced and more dynamic, the presentation looks fantastic, the fatalities so far are great... I have no doubt NRS will put out another MK title with a huge amount of content into it as well. Much appreciated for the PC version, which means I don't need to bother with the 360 port. Even though it is my most anticipated 2015 release, I feel like waiting for a few more and just get the inevitable Komplete Edition instead. Don't care about the competitive scene anyway.
Devil's Third = A new Itagaki game. I too lost some interest when I watched some of the recent videos, mostly due to the fact that the game looks like a complete unpolished mess. Kinda depressing to see an Itagaki title filled with modern gaming shenanigans (cover-based gameplay, ADS, regenerating health – the bane of my existence -, fucking goal marker telling you where to go, etc.). Still a little desperate for a new Itagaki action game (the combat mechanics are bound to be the main redeeming aspect, I hope), but I have a feeling disappointment is certain... Which is a shame, considering it's from the very same team who developed one of the best games of all time.
Star Fox = I'll take anything like SF64, or better yet, a Sin and Punishment-esque installment. But I don't know if I can trust modern Nintendo: I have a feeling they might want to introduce some gimmicky thing at the expense of stage and enemy design. We shall see...
Mario Maker
Bloodborne = I really, really want to play this, but there is no way in hell I'm buying a PS4 for one single game. I guess I'll just play it for a bit once it gets released on my local video store, or whenever I feel like it after launch (the most likely option). That's ok, I'm in no rush.
Scalebound = Same as above.
Dead or Alive 5: Last Round = Not a new game, but hey: DoA on PC!
Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition = Again, not a new game. Hmm, I'm not sure about this one. I already bought the original release a few moons ago, so I think I'll pass. Plus, apparently it's a PS4/Xone release, so... yeah. If it does come out on PC, however, then it's rental price territory (if Vergil is indeed the only new feature).
Haven't played Dark Souls II yet, so I'm looking forward for the whole package.
Also rather optimistic to see the new Virtua Fighter 5 update hit PC. Splatoon has me interested, but honestly... I'm not sure what to think about it.
I feel like I should dig deeper into the indie scene, as I'm sure there are a bunch of titles I'll end up enjoying a lot (La Mulana instantly comes to mind). But alas... too busy playing old shit.

Man, I was looking through its gamelist on Wiki yesterday. It's incomprehensible. Which ones are 3d? Which ones are sprite based? Which ones are linear platformers? Which ones have (imbalanced) RPG systems implemented?Castlevania
It's like 20 games and I have no idea which is which. At least throw an S or something at the end of something to show it's a Symphony of the Night clone or something. Castlevania S: Lament of Zesty Haunted Innocent Diarrhea.
This seems like really basic functionality. Super Mario managed to do that with the "3D Land" and "New" signifiers right out the gate!

Vita list, lots of interesting stuff I'm looking forward to:
Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer
Axiom Verge
Broken Age
Cosmic Star Heroine
Corpse Party: Blood Drive
Darkest Dungeon
Day of the Tentacle Special Edition
Earth Defense Force Portable V2
Grim Fandango
Heart Forth, Alicia
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number
htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary
Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart
IA/VT Colorful
Kodoku
La-Mulana
NightCry
Oddworld: New N' Tasty
Persona 4: Dancing All Night
Pier Solar
Shovel Knight
Steins;Gate
The Banner Saga
Tokyo Twilight Ghosthunters
VVVVVV
Zodiac
3DS list, less promising, but I'm hoping Code Name S.T.E.A.M is GOTY material and ports of some of the best games ever is pretty great, so I'm not complaining:
Code Name S.T.E.A.M
Fantasy Zone
Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa
Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX
Outrun
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
PC releases I really don't keep track of, I know there are a ton of good games coming, I just don't actively keep track of them. There are however five releases I want to try pretty much day one:
Corpse Party: Blood Covered
Grand Theft Auto V
Pillars of Eternity
Torment: Tides of Numenera
Ys: The Ark of Napishtim
I can't think of a single PS4/Xbone/WiiU title I care about.

My bad, I didn't read carefully enough and thought he was talking about the new Vita game Blood Drive (which is the third of the non-doujin series). I didn't realize Blood Covered was getting a PC port, that one I give my full approval too, it's a great game despite it's imperfections. Blood Drive fuckin' sucks :\ Maybe it'll get better when I get farther in...ZellSF wrote:First... Two? Blood Covered is a remake of the first game. Speaking of looking-forward-to, The Evil Within is $20 for the rest of today on Steam.
I'm still holding out to get it on bargain, or at least with the preorder + DLC rolled in - plus I didn't see the point of buying it now when my hardware won't support it well enough.

No word on whether Platinum is developing. I would guess KojiPro has passed it off to a different team, since Platinum is tied up with Scalebound at the moment.

Code Name S.T.E.A.M (generally a fan of IntSys output)
New Fire Emblem/Fire Emblem vs SMT (whatever ends up coming out this year)

Might have been some others, but I can't recall them now.

That game by the Demon Soul creator for the PS4. And the next Trails in the Sky game.
Other then that I'm looking toward the next Mass Effect single & multiplayer mode game, and single player only Elder Scrolls game (yes, I know, ES is shallow :p) game. But both of these games won't be out in 2015. ... Oh yeah, Project Y by Watermelon looks very interesting too.
