Any experts on video formats?

Post by neorichieb1971 »

I created a 50fps video and uploaded it to youtube. Youtube plays it fine.

However if I download the youtube and play it in WMP or my PS3 the audio lags behind and gradually gets worse throughout.

I have an Oppo blu ray player, which plays it perfectly every time.

Any idea why youtube and Oppo have it nailed and my PC and PS3 can't play it without an audio sync problem?

I have also tried video conversion, it makes no difference.. the converted file shows the exact same symptoms on the same hardware.

The video is of my local railway station - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61vwEHZ9qDw

If anyone can test it by downloading it (YTD) and let me know your results that would be great.

Thanks,

Richie.

Try VLC or MPC-HC on your PC and see if you get the same issue.

WMP is a terrible media player.

I don't know what help it is in diagnosis, but VLC also has the video statistics window you can use to check for things like dropped segments and so on.
