@Kollision: Are you sure about the autofire? The game doesn't feature built-in autofire (and there's also no option to toggle it on as far as I'm aware) which means that you need some external source in order to get it.

My score would be from the Trocadero Arcade 1991. The arcade original had very interesting ending credits including Hitler footage  .
I'll see if I have it written down...

People playing the arcade version, cool.

Guess this port doesn't accept anything in port 2 either. Oh well...

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. Sadly, the port replaced the ending with a more generic one, unless you have to beat Semipro or something. The first part of the arcade ending's music is hidden in the port, though.

Yeah the arcade ending is insanely awesome. Seeing it makes me want to get good at the game, but I'm so bad at it. Maybe some day.

Totally agreed. We used to play 2-player to get the ALL in the arcade. Maybe you can do this at a Meet and watch the ending again.

Arcade
TMS - 617,600 - ALL - P1 - YES - MAME

Finally had a run where I didn't mess up too badly. I think this is my limit with this game. Would get more points if I could no-miss/save bombs more, but that's very difficult.

Great to see that all the SFC strategies still work. Timed out bosses 3 & 4 and managed to keep all my lives up until the final boss and his nigh unavoidable patterns at the end. You can't even keep more than four lives in reserve in this version of the game which I find a bit mean-spirited. I also show the neat little trick against the final boss where you don't lose a life since the game is not able to subtract it anymore. Might try to get a better score at some point, I obviously miss out on those two bosses (both their actual worth and the "Mission Clear" bonus), but it's particularly difficult to fight against the fourth boss without dying.

This was a surprisingly great experience, I don't care what anyone says. :P I had a score of slightly above 590,000 at first, this time actually killing the third boss, yet still timing out the fourth. Afterwards I mustered my fortitude and fought all of these bosses to the end. Managed to no-miss stages 1-3 and finished stages 1, 2 and 4 with both bombs, unfortunately lost one during the third boss fight, which was costly. I used an Asciipad and occasionally toggled the autofire on which is honestly only a minor advantage, the charge shot is much more important during the majority of the runtime and you could achieve the same rate of fire by moderate mashing, I just hate doing so.
