Bullet Hells similar to Crimzon Clover (as opposed to CAVE)?
The message topic may be a bit confusion. What I'm wondering is whether there are other STGs that classify as bullet hell, but that are closer in style to Crimzon Clover than to typical Cave games. What I like a lot about Crimzon Clover is that there is very little micro dodging involved, which is one of the reasons I find this game so enjoyable. Are there any other games that play somewhat similarly?

IMO CC is more like a distillation/crystallization of Cave's style with a few nice new ideas than a different style. It doesn't strike me as having less micro dodging than your average cave shooter. Macro is very important in both.

Actually, I might say Aero Chimera sounds similar to what you might be looking for. Lots of fast, unfocused macro dodging going on there.
