Hi there,
I got my XRGB-Mini 2 weeks ago. It works just fine with my SCART cables but I do have some questions about some of it's features that I can't find on the wiki here: http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php/XRGB ... AMEMEISTER
1- Is it possible to have Scanlines when using a component source (with D-terminal) while having the XRGB-Mini outputting at 480p or 480i? If so, how do I do that?
2- I've tried upscaling some 480p Wii and GameCube games at 720p, they don't look great. In Wind Waker, I can see a bunch of distortions in sprites (Link's hair for example). The games do look great in s 480p output using the XRGB-Mini. Anything I can set to fix this or is this totally normal?
3- Anyway to save presets in the XRGB-Mini in order to switch between 2 or 3 configurations?
Thank you

Re: Some questions regarding regarding te XRGB-Mini
Not sure on point 1 as I've never done it and it seems rather pointless? At least to me, I'm not judging. But I would imagine it would work that way. You can just turn on scanlines by hitting the C button I believe and setting the Mini to output to 480p/i in the output menu found in the main menu.the_importer wrote:Hi there,

For Point 2, if it's the distortion I think you're referring too, then you have to change the auto_scaler to Video or Off with Horizontal and Vertical scaling adjustments. Those settings are in the wiki page you linked under Auto Scaler and Recommended settings.
For point 3, none that I know of and it's indeed annoying. Seems like a perfect use for the color buttons if they weren't already used for the zooms.

Well for point 1, I have a lot of classic Arcade game compilations on PS2, so I'd like to add scanlines to simulate the old arcade experience.eightbitminiboss wrote: Not sure on point 1 as I've never done it and it seems rather pointless? I'll give point 2 a try, thanks.

You can if the source is 240p. It won't work for 480i/p games. You can get scanlines for 480i/p games if you output at 720p however they look...meh. They are not even and give a strange pattern when looking at them close up like this:the_importer wrote:Hi there,

You can also get scanlines for 480i/p games while outputting in 1080p if you use Smart_X2 in the Screen Set options however they don't look that great either.
Make sure the H and V Scaler settings are correct for 480i/p games which should be 6 and 5 or 5 and 5 for a sharper picture. Also make sure the Image mode is set to Picture for 480p games for better results.the_importer wrote:2- I've tried upscaling some 480p Wii and GameCube games at 720p, they don't look great. Try upscaling 480i/p games to 1080p. They usually look better IMO. A trick to cut down on the jaggies and artifacts is to use the Zoom feature and shrink the image size down by using the Zoom_Overscan option.....or just sit further away from your TV
Nope, hopefully they will let us finally have this option in the near future.....someday....maybe..........if we are lucky.the_importer wrote:3- Anyway to save presets in the XRGB-Mini in order to switch between 2 or 3 configurations?

As long as we are asking questions...
I seem to remember reading that one can save two sets of picture settings per input. Is that correct?
