The shmups sales/deals thread
Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
I bought that bundle but already own Reflex and DU2 so first person to post that they want them, gets them.

Well, I spot with my own eye 2 shmups on sale over at the JP Xbox store (though you'll need a JP 360, IP, and such), DeathSmiles and Under Defeat HD digitally for 1/2 off I assume only for the week of 11/17 only.

It's DotEmu; not even worth a penny when MAME exists.Squire Grooktook wrote:Metal Slug X 70% off
Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
Seems to have online co op which gets pretty favourable reviews from Steam users. If it's not broken then that's worth the price alone.

Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
This is for the Metal Slug 3 port, not sure if they improved things for X: The netplay works fine, but is slightly worse than MAME clients with rollback netcode (GGPO, supercade, etc.). I ended up playing the series on emulators with others who bought the port since we always got better latency & less input lag. Such a small difference doesn't matter for most buyers though.DoomsDave wrote:Seems to have online co op which gets pretty favourable reviews from Steam users. At least the port of MS3 is a hell of a lot better than the one for Xbox Live Arcade..

Masterpiece jpg above there, lol
I have to admit, this 'steam' thing largely just strikes me as paying for basic emulation, and it bemuses me the way certain people online constantly eulogise it, but then almost never play the invisible binary code they accumulate on it.
As I type right now, I noticed GAME have copies of Akai Katana for just a fiver... how long before that starts to creep up I wonder.

Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
Huge thanks for this. I've been waiting forever for the price to get around $10, and it finally happened. Nice price as well on Gran Turismo 6 and a few jrpgs.
Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
Hmmm... GW3, NanoStray and Raiden IV, that's a good amount of gameplay there. Throw in Binding of Isaac and my winter may be completely overrun with shmups!

Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
Picked this up today, partly because I really wanted to play it and partly because if I ever want UFO to bring over Caladrius Blaze (which I really, really do), I figure I should support them in any way possible. Really enjoying it quite a bit, though it took some getting used to the way your ship moves.
Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
Raiden III and Crimzon Clover WI for $5 each on GOG!

Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
Where can I purchase a brand new (regular edition) Ketsui PS3 for the cheapest price? Play Asia? (I read that the game was put in the bargain bin in Japan, so why is it still $50-$60 to import? lol...)
Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
Asia version (?) of Caladrius Blaze at play-asia for 14.99$

Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
Just came here to post that deal. What an offer! It is indeed the Asia version, which is region-free/universal.
Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
Hot damn, I paid like $60 for it a couple months ago...hien wrote:Asia version (?) of Caladrius Blaze at play-asia for 14.99$
Please let us know when they do the same for Ketsui PS3.
Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
I was just irritated by the cover since it showed the japanese one at first, which resulted in the question mark. They already fixed that though. If people are unsure about what they will get: since it seems to be a japanese language asian version, it will most likely be identical to the japanese one with only a chinese flyer added to the japanese manual and the symbol for the age limit on the front being different. That's at least what the asian japanese versions of other games I got were like.spadgy wrote:Just came here to post that deal. What an offer! Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
the deal changed back while I was checking out
Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
The game is still in stock, and ready to be shipped within 24 hours. It's just no longer available for that price. Shady business practice?
Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
Unfortunately, it seems the sale is supply-constrained. If you go to the homepage, Caladrius still shows up as part of the sale but with a big SOLD plastered in front.Bonus! wrote:The game is still in stock, and ready to be shipped within 24 hours. Re: The shmups* sales/deals thread
it literally changed between placing it in my cart and filling out shipping information. I went to the next page and was just about to click to complete the order when I saw the raised price. pretty shady if you ask me to change the price while it's in my cart and not notify me at all.
