Stuck at work late doing testing of a deployment to production. In retrospect, if I had permission to expense dinner I should probably have thought of something better than Taco Bell...

I had a fun yet annoying evening yesterday. I have quit drinking alcohol for the most part. I was invited to go to a pub with my friends.
Watching people I know get horrifically drunk can be kind of sad.

They decided to go to a "nice" pub since they had jobs. Well two of them have jobs. £5 pints, no pool table. Since I am sober I need a pool table or a dart board.
One guy was going on about how he is upper middle class for 15 minutes and how he won't go to a pub with a pool table because he doesn't fit in.
Another guy who is bisexual made jokes about sucking all of the dicks at the table all night.

The nice guy my korean friend was having fun I think but I thought the half hour of instruction on how to use the word whom correctly was a bit much.
My friend who is balding was acting insecure about his hair the whole time even though he has the best looking hair at the table.

My upper-middle class friend and company were in the pub after midnight laughing and shouting at each other about cocks while the staff were politely asking them to leave.
My friend who was generously buying everyone drinks tried to pay his tab, but their payment hardware was shut down so everyone else had to pay his bill so he could get his card back.

Shitty night right? Not entirely. I was on the bus heading home, there were eight or so drunk lads sitting around and two blonde girls in front of me. one of the guys was trying to hit on the girls unsuccessfully.
I was sitting directly behind the girls, the one on the right started talking to me, the conversation wasn't half bad. She and her friend were from Sweden and had been in the country for 2 weeks for their new call center job. They spoke quite a bit of their language so who knows what they said but the girl on the left introduced herself and shook my hand. Normally when someone doesn't end the handshake immediately I get annoyed but I'm not going to complain about holding a gorgeous blonde 20 something swedish girls hand for 5 minutes. Nice bit of chat, they ask me about facebook I told them my name although I don't expect to ever hear from them as they were at least moderately drunk. I got up and said some things and they said bye to me using my name, "see you soon darling!" etc the lads looked shattered.

So that was cool, if I had been drinking I would have gone all out and had to crash on the floor at my bisexual friends appartment hoping not to be raped in my sleep.

I don't know if people here are sick of my crappy stories but I'll post them anyways it is nice to articulate them in my head and to be honest I don't really give a damn about much anymore.

Sounds like a fun day 8)

Nothing special for me today - just studied for most of the day and played some piano a while ago (been taking lessons for about 3 months now). Tomorrow I'm going out for pizza with a few girls though, that should be interesting.
So, did you get a girl?

Nope, but I wasn't expecting anything to happen anyway. We ate pizza, chatted for a couple hours and parted ways. It was a fun evening.

To add to this thread, yesterday night I went to a get-together with some buddies at a friend's house. We ate, played some co-op Diablo 3 and watched youtube videos afterwards.

I went to see Perfume in NYC last night. It was probably the best 2 hours of my life. First, the setlist:
Spoiler
Enter the Sphere
Spring of Life (Album-mix)
Cling Cling
One Room Disco

-MC- (bagel & cupcake)
Nee
Seventh Heaven
Hold Your Hand
Spending all my time (DV&LM mix interlude into the single version)
GAME
Dream Fighter

-PTA Corner-
Party Maker (Gurun Edit)
GLITTER (unfortunately it didn't have the laser danmaku from their Gurun tour)
Chocolate Disco (2012 mix)
Polyrhythm

-encore-
FAKE IT
MY COLOR

If they would have done Electro World instead of Cling Cling, this set would have been nearly perfect.
This was the first time I'd ever been to a concert, and my body was not ready for how loud and powerful the music would be. I could feel it in my bones, especially during their heaviest songs (GAME, Party Maker, FAKE IT, etc.). It was amazing, of course. I wound up with a pretty good spot on the floor because I stood outside in the bitter fucking cold for 4+ hours (god knows how the people who lined up in the morning survived). I'd say I was around 20-25 feet from the stage, and I'm fairly tall, so I always had a good view unless some hands & cameras got in the way. Nothing worth complaining about, especially since the show itself was flawless.

Honestly, I love Perfume more than any of my other interests, so being able to see them perform live is a dream come true for me. Hopefully this won't be the last time. :D

Not a whole lot.
Cleaned out closet, found some excess items that I can hock on eBay, and then watched some movies on Hulu Plus

Worked out my legs and got super pumped. Read a bunch. Watched movies, played games. Wish I could quit my job and do this every night.

I went to see them in London on Wednesday.

And I went to see Kalafina in Tokyo two weeks ago.

Two of the best music events I've ever been to. (And I've been to a ton over the years.)

As for today, I streamed some Garegga this afternoon and set a new PB to round off an awesome three weeks off work for annual leave; made a quick and simple tuna and potato salad for dinner; and sat and watched the Italy vs Croatia football match with my Italian flatmates.

I was in the back by the control panel. My legs are in bad shape so being able to lean really helped. Amazing concert.

Went to see Scandal perform live in London on Sunday, got back home yesterday night. Amazing show, filled with a great deal of energy and fun, backed by amazing music throughout.
Especially enjoyed everyone jumping in unison for "Shunkan Sentimental", and singing along to the chorus of "Everybody Say Yeah!" at the end of the encore. :3

They're way better live than I was expecting. They're certainly far louder than I was expecting, lol. 9999/10 would see again.
