Vertexer was almost certainly inspired by Epoch's Star Speeder on the Super Cassette Vision

That background effect on the title screen for Vertexer looks fucking amazing. I wonder how that's pulled off?

Just looks like a continuous scrolling BG layer, a foreground layer that's black and transparent, and maybe a palette effect.

Playing Galactic Storm on the Ouya via Mame emu is impressive. None of my local arcades got in such an GS cab though. Would be cool to try out Vertexer on Mame one of these days.

Indeed. Don't ever doubt his dedication. I know a lot of people in the world are passionate about games, but he dumps rare shit and has never even booted Mame!
just in a completely different orbit, let alone league

You need to wait until at least Christmas Eve in JP. Have fun getting anything shipped to you until late January though.

The recording for this CD is being done from the PCB I am borrowing for dumping.

Wow, nice info there.
Do you know if they are doing digital recordings or dumping the sound data from the PCB?

I can ask. If they knew me earlier, Cyber Sterra would have been included.

Any other recording questions? Best to do it at once.

Just that one, thanks man. I hope they don't ruin this soundtrack doing line-in recordings like TEAM Entertainment.

If they're using the PCB you currently have to record as the basis for the soundtrack can we assume then that Zuntata no longer has the source information from that time? Seems like something they would've just used the developer materials for if they still had it.

An unrelated question for you Shou: what do you know of the G-Stream G2020 boards present around Tokyo? I'm certain there's two board versions present (the buggy version MAME has and a "world" version with the ship in the title screen) but nobody on this side of the ocean seems to think it exists let alone own one. The earlier boards seem common enough however, with one popping up on YAJ for anywhere up to 1000 AUD+ every several months.

Many of the recent game recordings have come directly from the PCBs and one group I am current dealing with.

The one with the ship in the title screen is a revision and I have a standing request to dump it. I have access to it but went for DT7 instead as it is totally undumped.

I see. Giving priority to the undumped/fragile materials makes complete sense, I'm just glad it isn't a simple case of me misinterpreting things and said board actually exists. Thanks for all your work. :)

Holy sh... I've been playing the two tracks from L'ab-normal 2nd over and over again since I first found it ten years ago, it's amazing to be able to listen to the whole thing! Damn the previews sound good, instant buy! Thanks for the heads-up bombman!

I really wish Kawamoto would release more completely new material, she's really amazing!

Oooh, a digital release! Great stuff!

They had the entire soundtrack for it in the Taito Digital Sound Archive vol1 mentioned earlier in this thread, which I bought via rancor once he got supply for it - nice to have it in physical form along with the other stuff that was on it (wasn't expecting Volfied on it lol).
