What would you do? Would you kill someone for me?

I double dipped the PS3 version for the Ketsui OST and superplay BD. Well worth the money IMO.broken harbour wrote:Add me to the list of mentally I'll people that own both the 360 and PS3 ports...

Re: Ketsui comes to the PS3
Just picked up this game, and have some questions about it (since I can't read the manual haha)
What's the difference between the different play options available? I'm assuming record play records the play, but what about network play? Is that just for online multiplayer?
What do all the smoothing display options do exactly? Which one is most arcade accurate on a CRT, and which on an LCD?
What do the different options under game config ex do? Wait control, chip range control, etc etc.
Thanks in advance.

I believe "Network Game" is the mode that lets you upload your score and replay to the leaderboards. Like "Score Attack" in other Cave games.
Re: Ketsui comes to the PS3
with smoothing you can affect the visual style of the game. I typically have it turned off when I'm playing on a CRT monitor or turned on when playing on an HDTV. It sort of "smooths" the image which would otherwise look like a SNES hooked up via composite to an HDTV. I don't know the actual technical aspects of it, but starcreator in the 360 thread sort of touches on it.
"wait" controls the ingame slowdown which I think you would want to enable to resemble the pcb slowdown. other options in the game ex config affect different ingame outcomes - such as enabling the 2nd loop regardless if you meet the requirements. most of the options have to unlocked ingame over time.

So, now that the game's been out for a while... did anyone compare this to the 360 version? Curious which one is better.

Pretty much identical in every way outside of the box that plays them.

I know dcharlie posted a while back that there were apparently some minor bugfixes, but never mentioned what they were... that and the input lag were the two areas I was most curious about.drunkninja24 wrote:Pretty much identical in every way outside of the box that plays them.

I haven't noticed any input lag in the PS3 port whatsoever. You should be fine as long as your TV has no noticeable input lag.Chacranajxy wrote:I know dcharlie posted a while back that there were apparently some minor bugfixes, but never mentioned what they were... that and the input lag were the two areas I was most curious about.drunkninja24 wrote:Pretty much identical in every way outside of the box that plays them.

I'm pretty sensitive to input lag in general, and I've had no issues with the PS3 version.

For Tokyo/Japan people : Ketsui PS3 has hit the bargain buckets - 1980 yen for new, sealed, limited edition copies in sofmap.

A damn shame. I would think that it would at least get the attention it deserves in its home countrydcharlie wrote:For Tokyo/Japan people : Ketsui PS3 has hit the bargain buckets - 1980 yen for new, sealed, limited edition copies in sofmap.

Re: Ketsui comes to the PS3
Too bad that Japanese retail bargain bin prices rarely have any effect on international import sales. Typically, it's only when a cheaper budget reprint (i.e. Playstation The Best) is released that importers have access to significant savings.

Play-asia sometimes mirror the drop, but obviously not all the way

Re: Ketsui comes to the PS3
If importers do end up mirroring the drop, I'm buying a copy even though I don't own a PS3: It might be $20 now, but thinking back to Muchi Muchi Pork and Pink Sweets, that was $30 sealed when I bought it, and it jumped up to around a hundred dollars used a few weeks later. Besides, how could I pass up a limited edition with a super play blu ray for $20? If anything that alone is worth over $20!
Is that blu ray region free as well?

The case cover and the BD itself don't have any region info. It plays on region A players.cave hermit wrote:

I'm enjoying this on the PS3, with an arcade stick its not bad at all. Shame there arent more Cave ports.
Anyone have a link to an English manual? I'm not even sure what differences the xmode has.
