I honestly didn't think this was going to be legit when the rumour first broke (and up until now), especially given there was absolutely no corroborating evidence. Looks like there's life in Ye Olde 360 yet, and not long to wait if the release date is to be believed.

I wonder if Radirgy, Karous and Ilvello will be playable in tate?

Awesome news. I'll finally be able to check out Illvelo, which I've got on the Milestone Shooting collection 2 for Wii but never actually owned a machine.

I doubt they'll keep all the bonus modes from the stand alone ports, but hey. Day 1.

SiliconEra says it's going to have something in the way of additional content, so they won't be barebones ports.

Don't get too excited - most recent Japanese STG releases have been subject to a 1- 3 month delay from the originally announced release date, so "end of November" can easily become "sometime in February".

I was kind of hoping for an "edition" that also included a separate soundtrack ...

Only if your name is KAI, or you otherwise have an irrational fixation on questionably designed doujin-level STGs with bad graphics and annoying audio. I mean, watch this 1CC of Karous where the player barely has to move during the entire run.

It's somewhat unfair to deride them as doujins when games like Crimzon Clover exist, though.

Chaos Field is the best of the bunch, but I always felt I would rather be playing RSG or Ikaruga instead of an inferior, derivative knockoff.

Many people don't get what M games are about or simply can't take the weird cell shading and electro/break/glitch music.
Definitely no for everyone.
Radirgy/Karous/Illvelo can get really fun and frantic, but it's up to the player to make it happen.

The Milestone shmups are definetely not as straightforward as, say, DoDonPachi where you can simply shoot stuff and dodge other stuff and enjoy it even if you don't know/care about how the chaining works. But underneath the generous shield systems, jauge-based scoring mechanics and the cartoon-like art style they are very fun and frantic games. Most of them are not extremely difficult to clear but the real joy comes from scoring.

Pretas : That Karous video is not representative of everything that's in the game. Playing it purely for survival is playing it wrong given how easy it is.

It was like this on the DC with VGA, and since the Wii had a pretty poor video output in comparison, it's more like you're seeing the real thing.

According to the first screen-shot on the XBox page, it looks like Mixture Mode features 2-player simultaneous play and you can team up craft from whichever game (shows Karous as player 1 and the craft/thing from IllVelo as player 2). Plus the game supports on-line co-op play.

Now we just need tate confirmation for the 3 vertically oriented games... or hell, total 4:3 support would be nice.

Milestone games definitely aren't for everyone, and that includes myself.

I tried, I really did, but I just can't get into them. I do respect how they try different things and th music is decent, but I can't play them very long without feeling well... Bored. I must be playing them wrong, although the cel shading does make thine eyes bleed.
