I just acquired a PVM 20M2MDU and I'm trying to run my NTSCJ PS2 via component cables. I'm having a problem getting it to sync, the picture displays but constantly scrolls and does not set. I checked my my genesis (via composite) and it worked just fine and displays that it is in NTSC.
Any idea what's going on here and how I may correct it?

Re: PVM 20M2MDU sync issue
did you try to play with the underscan and overscan setting to see if it makes any difference ?
My PVM 2030 has a dial to adjust the sync; it s located next to the degauss button. Check if you have one too.

Re: PVM 20M2MDU sync issue
go into the menu and choose config. you should then see RGB A SYSTEM and RGB B SYSTEM choose the one your ps2 is connected to. then you should see COMP INT SYNC, choose that. that should solve the issue.

Re: PVM 20M2MDU sync issue
You've set both the tv [front buttons?] and the ps2 [in the boot settings/setup] to component?
... It almost sounds like the ps2 is outputting rgb and the tv's expecting component... like you've got rgb and no sync on green?

Is the PS2's menu set to Component (and not RGB) ?
Try to connect just the Y (green) connector of the YUV cable to the composite video input of the monitor (where you connected your Genesis). You should get a stable (but b/w-only) picture if the PS2 is set correctly.

Re: PVM 20M2MDU sync issue
I will check tonight when I get home. I tried running my 360 through yesterday and I didn't get any picture at all.
Maybe something is broken.

Re: PVM 20M2MDU sync issue
hi, I am having the exact same problem. Got my NTSC ps2 hooked up via component cable to my PVM 20M2MDU. What is even worse, I was playing perfectly with this setup, with a snes DVD that gave me perfect 240p and suddenly it just stop working. The PVM lost sync from one second to another.
Tried a bunch of combinations setups in the PVM and nothing. Also connected other devices into the oher inputs like s-video an composite and nothing.
Its like all the inputs failed at the same time. I know my PS2 is working because I plug it into my 14 inch PVM the same way and the image is perfect.
Back in my 20M2MDU I can acces my menu, and the white letters are fine, but cant get back to my neat image!
What is causing this sudden lost of sync in all my inputs??
many thanks, and sorry for my bad english
