Doujin Dance and Stone Age Gamer Turbo Everdrives ?

Post by evil_ash_xero »

I was wondering if DoujinDance has changed the location of his region switches in his systems?

Stone Age Gamer's have a top shell, instead of just being the board. And the switch is too low for the card to fit.

I don't have a Turbo Everdrive to confirm it will fit but in my Duo-R modded by Doujin the region switch is about half an inch up from the ridge on the right were the Hu Card sits.

I understand exactly. I just looked at my Doujindance Duo-R (bought it about a year ago), and after taking a peek at where the region switch is (and the pics of the stoneagegamer shell), I can't say with certainty that there would be enough clearance (switch is at the back top-right of the Hu Card slot when facing the console). Having said that, the stoneagegamer shell clearly has screws which can be used to remove the case if need be.

I personally use my Turbo Everdrive without a shell, and don't see what the big deal is about needing one. When it's in my Duo-R, there is a plastic hatch that closes over the Hu Card slot, protecting it completely. If I use a CD-Rom, I just take out the Everdrive and put it in the box it came in. If you decide to go sans shell, I'd argue that you should purchase it from Retrogate. The money goes directly to Krikzz (the manufacturer), instead of some reseller with flashy packaging who wasn't involved in any way in making this awesome product. Shockingly, the shipping is also cheaper from Retrogate for North Americans.

You can play cd-rom games without needing to remove the everdrive. Simply put the cd system card bios rom on the everdrive and load it from there.

Even better, you don't even have to ever take out the Turbo Everdrive- thanks for that info man!

Mine fits fine with plenty of clearance, and you could remove or reposition the switch if needed.

if you're using no-intro, it should be the "[BIOS] TurboGrafx CD Super System Card (USA) (v3.0)" rom. you can put it anywhere on the card. I put mine in the root directory for easy access. Just load it like a regular rom and it will take you directly to the super-cd rom start screen. I use the Turbografx version for the English savefile management.

Thanks.

Also, would I be able to get the Bios for the Arcade Card, and use that to run Sapphire, instead of having to buy the Arcade Card as well?

unfortunately you need the actual arcade card, since it has the extra RAM the arcade card games require.

lol great tip, never occurred to me ha!

Easy to remove doujindance's switch and re-screw a new hole just watch his YouTube for his opening procedure as it's a new cable on the side that usually has none.
