Free PSP Doujin Puzzler "Tail Tale" to download...

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

Yesterday on the psp-news.dcemu.co.uk site, I was browsing for some cool PSP homebrew games to download and came across this PSP "Doujin" game...upon further inspection, it's a very professionally done homebrew PSP game. It runs at a brisk arcade quality 60 frames per second. If you have played Cyber Front's Kollon game on the Taito G-Net mobo or the PSP version, then this PSP doujin puzzler "Tail Tale" will play similar to that game gameplay-wise.

Here's the link to download the PSP "Tail Tales" game (it's a 8.93MB zipped file):

Here's my highest score for PSP "Tail Tale" game..

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

Yesterday on 12/22/05, I got my highest score on the cool douijin PSP homebrew puzzler "Tail Tale":

High Score: 13,520 points
Clear Block: 903
Level: 16
Difficulty: Easy setting
Date: 12/22/2005

I realize that this PSP "Tail Tale" homebrew game seems to be missing some the "essential" gameplay elements that make up a good arcade-type or console-based puzzler (of course, all the below listed observations could be implemented in further revisions of the "Tail Tale" game for a truly polished professional PSP homebrew puzzler for all to enjoy):

1.) "Bonus chaining" system for setting up more than one set of blocks to dissappear

2.) No pause feature implemented (of course, you can't "pause" arcade game PCBs when playing them...there are a few PCBs that do have that particular feature though)

3.) No screen capture of high score for posterity

4.) No high score intial entry screen

5.) No high score screen

6.) A little opening attraction screen and/or story intro would be cool to set up the game for the player to get into

7.) No "exit game" functionality option

8.) A demo showing how to play the game & and it's gameplay mechanics would be cool (rather than having to play the game to figure out what does what in the long run).
