About time, indeed.

Thunder Blade Is Getting The 3D Ages Remake Treatment
By Spencer . August 7, 2014 . 11:12pm

Sega’s helicopter shooter, Thunder Blade, is coming to Nintendo 3DS on August 20. It’s joining the list of 3D remastered games like 3D Space Harrier and 3D Outrun.

3D Thunder Blade has stereoscopic 3D graphics and optional motion controls that simulate the feeling of sitting in an arcade cabinet. Sega also made a Special Mode which has a new final stage and the true boss at the end.

As of now, 3D Thunder Blade and the current wave of Sega 3D Classics have not been announced for regions other than Japan.

Ha, these guys are cheeky, giving us a "true final boss" for a game likely as old as they are...

They joked a lot about this game in the interviews for the first batch of Sega 3D Classics so it is funny to see they finally let the M2 producer go on with this project.

BTW, wasn't there an exclusive boss at the end of stage 6 in the PC-Engine version of R-Type ?

I stopped even looking in the US e-shop. There was never anything to buy.

I think that's a bit hasty. SEGA waited for the first batch to all come to Japan before bringing them to the west. I heard they did well, so it's likely they will come here. I don't get Nintendo's schedule, but it's not like nothing is coming. Shovel Knight just came out not too long ago and Nazo no Murasamejo finally came out on the US VC. I heard good things about Siesta Fiesta, as well.
