Just a couple more tweaks on the monitor and she will be great.

Very nice. I like your animated gif a lot (maybe you should have set the camera to a fixed focus for a perfect rendering).

google+ edited a series of shots I took, just thought it looked cool...

Here's my Exceleena, setup for shmups. Still having some convergence issues with the monitor. I've spent at least a couple of hours playing with the convergence rings, but after getting shocked a half dozen times and it looking no better, I think I'm going to leave it and revisit this later. Have a cap kit on the way.

while you at it, look at the red and blue gain as well...my blast had that problem and its a bitch to get right. Never in my life have I doubted white colour being real white this much before.

Foobs, I love those cabs! I hope you et the monitor looking satisfactory.
I’m going through some issues with my super neo 29 at the moment, so no pics for a while it looks like.

Thanks guys. Yeah I love the Exceleena; this one's is in pretty nice shape too, but the convergence is bad enough that playing shmups can be frustrating. I'm going to cap it this weekend and maybe that'll get things bearable. I just finished the cap kit on my Street Fighter cab and notice a huge improvement, so I'm hopeful!

So much better than getting an ugly vewlix. Great job monouchi!
Now you got me thinking about doing the same to my New Astro...

Ive got a gutted NAC shell too, definitely mulling it over.opt2not wrote:AMAZINGmonouchi wrote:My latest addition: Egret 3 HD

I think the bezel is going to be tougher. Especially since on the NAC, the original bezel is much more curved than an E3. The LCD would probably have to sit a bit deeper in.Thamiel wrote:Ive got a gutted NAC shell too, definitely mulling it over.opt2not wrote:AMAZINGmonouchi wrote:My latest addition: Egret 3 HD

I'll reserve a project like this to when the Nanao in my cab dies and isn't salvageable. So like, in another 30-40 years maybe
Re: Show them if you've got them - Candy cabs
Haha, mine is literally just a shell and I've got no back up monitors so I'm game. Shouldn't be too difficult to shave down the inside to have the lcd panel sit a little more shallow.
That said I'm restoring a cigarette ravaged Exceleena panel at the moment, so I'm quite aware of how time consuming fibreglass/putty work is...

The Astro bezel allready sits at a good height (Flush with the surround.)Thamiel wrote:Haha, mine is literally just a shell and I've got no back up monitors so I'm game. Shouldn't be too difficult to shave down the inside to have the lcd panel sit a little more shallow.

The 27" lcd-panel actually sits under the surround so the bezel would need to loose some plastic at where the lcd panel touches the surround and then also a spacer that sits between the rounded edge of the bezel and the flat surface of the panel.
Then also the "hole" in the bezel has to be re-modeled to fit the lcd screen area.
Re: Show them if you've got them - Candy cabs
Aye, big job with lots of test fits. Almost wonder if it's better to fabricate a new one from thin sheets of layered wood.

Possibly yes.Thamiel wrote:Aye, big job with lots of test fits. Almost wonder if it's better to fabricate a new one from thin sheets of layered wood.
I re-modeled a original bezel cos of all the bends and curves going all over and that helped me alot to find the final shape.
