Hello, I am having trouble with my Neo Geo MVS and don't know where to begin on getting it fixed so I was hoping someone here would have some idea on what is wrong.
The sound on my MVS stopped working randomly one day so I recapped it. I hooked it up and the sound worked fine but the video was screwed up. I turned it off and made sure the cartridge was in all the way and turned it on again. Now the sound no longer works and the video is still screwed up. The strange thing is that the hardware test screens and the "winners don't do drugs" screen don't have any of the video problems. Same with the heath bars and text in the game which you can see in the picture.
Does anyone know what could be causing these sound and video problems?

Yeah I think so, I cleaned both the cartridge and the connector with some alcohol. The games were working fine before I tried recapping it too. I'll go over and clean them both again to just be 100% sure though.

Also my Neo Geo is an MV2 if that matters any.
Do not use alcohol to clean an MVS cartridge slot. It does little to nothing to remove dirt/grime. You will want to use contact cleaner for that.
I am no longer taking free or paid modding projects, please do not contact me asking for my services. Thanks .

I just used alcohol on a toothbrush to clean the connectors. I did try plugging in KOF98 after cleaning and there was some audio but it sounded way off. The Visual problems were slightly different this time too. I'll try contact cleaner and see if that improves it any.
Alright I got some contact cleaner and cleaned the connectors and a few other places with it. Still the same visual problems but Kof98 has sound now. I also tried my 161 in 1 multi cart which worked fine in the past. It has the same visual problems but no sound at all.
Another strange thing is happening now, if the multicart is the only cartridge inserted it will have no sound. If the multicart is in slot 1 with Kof98 in slot 2 neither game will have sound. If Kof98 is in slot 1 and multicart is in slot 2 both games will have sound. Sadly no combination fixes video problems

99% is connector problem
but it look how problem on connector on motherboard try press both parts to each other

My Neo Geo is an MV2-01 and I don't think it has the areas you circled.
But while I was looking for it I did notice that on this chip (not my picture I got it from the neogeodev wiki) a few legs seem to have a glob of solder bridging them. I don't know if that is the cause of the visual problems but I will try to remove that solder and see if it fixes it.
Alright, the solder bridging the legs on the PRO-C0 was the cause of the video problems. Everything looks and sounds fine now. Thanks for the help everyone
