Have a model one Sega CD that no longer reads CDs and the disk tray will no longer open/close.
Does anyone fix this kind of stuff or know what it might cost to get repaired?
Thanks

If it cannot read CDs it is possible a failed laser, or bad capacitors.Seraphic wrote:Have a model one Sega CD that no longer reads CDs and the disk tray will no longer open/close.

The door not opening and closing could be that the plastic teeth that feed the tray forward and back are broken, or a bad motor.

door not opening could also be a broken helix gear. Thats the gear that actually moves the cd lens up and down. It breaks or chips all the time.
