There was another time like 1/3, close to seven years a'fore. I was new then, a kid who thought the shmups community was about these fun games where you dodged bullets and shot baddies. A happy idiot.

On a certain date a month later, nothing happened... on the surface. To guests, it was business as usual. To the more unobservant forum-goers, too, or to those with the sense not to put a credit in that arcade cabinet in their skulls, the one whose attract mode is so appalling, so enticing.

From everyone else, there was a communal act of hate. An outpouring of atrocity so intense that if you'd told me it came from a demon's asshole, I'd laugh, because it was nothing so sweet. A billion murderers could have shit all the badness out of themselves in that one bloody bowel movement. I thought shmupsforum was purged after that - purified - but a few months ago, I was proven wrong. A few months ago, it was even worse. There's no satisfying them.
