I just hope France do better than 4 years ago...

Hides somewhere

Oh God, I will never forget that shameful moment. It was really a thing.

That would be awesome to see, such a hard hit on FIFA's face.
I always hope for something like that to happen. Would be so freaking amazing and funny

It says a lot about the Belgium vs Russia game when the TV camera cuts to one of the Belgium supporters falling asleep in his seat.

Yeah. Fuckin blows. Most exciting thing to happen so far was the R5 desk's reminiscence of the LOLgoal on Russia last game.

Now that's entertainment!

Looking forward to USA Portugal later tonight.

What the...

That was a fantastic game. Full on pressure from both sides and end to end stuff for the duration. We thoroughly enjoyed, and it was good to have a winner - although I feel sorry for Russia after playing such a tight defensive game.

Unsure how anyone could consider that boring, one of the best deadlocks I've seen in a while.

And Eden Hazard just got man of the match.
Wut. :?
BBC Radio 5 shredding this match, haha. Best part of the whole game to be honest.

That wall they put up for the free kick by Mirallas (which hit the post) was pretty funny, not even a wall lol.

Comedy defending at its finest. Great for the spectators as it results in boatloads of goals.
Hyped for USA vs Portugal, mainly because I want the USA to beat Portugal by a brace.

Good on Algeria! First world cup win since '82 apparently. Dire first half from South Korea but it did bring the entertainments with those three Algerian goals by three different players in twelve minutes.

Dramatic. USA didn't deserve to concede that equaliser.

They totally did for not just keeping the ball the hell away from Portugal. I was so pissed when that equalizer went in, though. Beautiful goal, but fuck.

The US played damn well through the match though. Almost felt like a different team than the one that played Ghana.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Next up: Ze Germans.

That one is at 1AM local time so I'll likely go find a watering hole and probably get my pounded by a bunch of Germans.

That game was... interesting. Really sloppy play from Portugal, quite surprising. Goals at the very beginning and very end of the match was fairly hype though.

I'm crushed for the USA - I really wanted them to send the Winker & co. on their merry way. :(

It would be good for the sport if more Americans followed it instead of wasting time on rubbish like American Football, another reason I'd love to see them make the quarter finals. But I certainly fancy Portugal's chances against Ghana more than the US against a Germany looking to devour anything in their path.

Goddamn, they just needed to hold form for 10 more seconds!

It was indeed brutal. Well, makes for rising tension in the next game.

American Football for me is a bit of a sad story. A far more strategic sport than... well, anything on TV, but has simply gone to shit b/c of all the "bling" that now surrounds it.

I attended three live games in the UK from visiting US teams, and tried to sit through a game during a Philly Thanksgiving family get together.

I've given that sport all I can, and I can't give no more. It's painfully slow and boring, absolutely loaded with advertising, and pales in comparison to Rugby.

As I said, more strategy than physicality. I know it's hard to believe, but it's true, as someone who played it in a state that worships the sport. All 11 guys on the field have a specific task each play. If one fails, the chances of the play ending in disaster rise dramatically. It features basically no humility though. I would expect nobody that didn't grow up on the sport would like it in it's current state now though. I definitely don't follow it in Japan (except the super bowl). I watch a game here and there when I'm at home.

I find it funny that the USA is bragging about a tied match against a half dead team like Portugal's... No Tiago, no Coentrao, no Pepe, no João Pereira, a half dead Ronaldo...am I missing anyone else?
The way I see it is going to be an awful bye bye to the USA on the next phase.

Wait...

So due to Portugal getting that late equaliser, Ghana can still go through, all that needs to happen is they:

1) Win their next game, not impossible given the draw with Germany.
2) Germany thrash USA, also not impossible.

Enjoyed listening to the Brazil/Cameroon match earlier tonight, was quite frantic despite the thrashed result. Good job super headbutt afro man (charge d, then u+any punch) wasn't on the field! You'd think he'd shave his head if he was going to be doing that shit, all that fro must act as a shock absorber. Zidane he ain't.

Well, maybe Germany takes it easy...send most of their bench players and get through getting an easy going tie. With that the USA will get to the next phase and get ready for a massive crush.
