Will be starting around noon and closing up around 10:00 as usual.
I don't have plans for food yet so please let me know what you can bring,
or if you have some suggestions for take-out / delivery.

It looks like I could be bringing along one guest (if that's OK).
As for food, Race Street Fish & Chips is good enough to be worth the drive, so that's the best I can think of that's around there. Togo's and Baja Fresh are a bit closer, though.

Count me in!
@Softdrink: Nereid brought a Dao last time. I'd certainly play a bit if you bring one.
EDIT: cham0mile will also be attending!

Sweet, thanks for the heads up Al! I'll be there and can bring some homemade wine cake and brownies. Trust me, they were a rave at prior small local gatherings

I've worked out my schedule so that I can make it!
Will bring my Dao if Nereid brings his setup.

I'll be there, no guests I think. I'd bring homemade baklava, but if Kiselgof already has dessert stuff covered, I should probably think of something else.

If you still have room for more people, I would like to join in.

I'm thinking of bringing one of my consoles over, though I can't decide if I want to take my RGB modded Twin Fami or Duo-R.

Re: SF Bay Area / Norcal / San Jose meet 2014 Summer
nothing like a little competition to stir up the old machines, huh? You gotta give Alamones Planet Harriers setup a run, it's good stuff.Dave_K. wrote:There's a chance I'll also be able to host a meet at my new place before the summer heat sets in, or at least that's the plan. Still good to know Alamone is setting the bar high with the following must see lineup!
BTW, any chance there will be an X68k there?
I design retro gaming add-ons and repair old consoles

I have a RGB Duo-R (nobody seems to be interested in buying it), but I have not yet NESRGB modded my AV famicoms.ApolloBoy wrote:I'm thinking of bringing one of my consoles over, though I can't decide if I want to take my RGB modded Twin Fami or Duo-R.
I sold my XVI Compact a while ago.segasonicfan wrote:BTW, any chance there will be an X68k there?

I could always bring mine

Alright, sounds like the Twin Fami will be making an appearance then.alamone wrote:I have a RGB Duo-R (nobody seems to be interested in buying it), but I have not yet NESRGB modded my AV famicoms.ApolloBoy wrote:I'm thinking of bringing one of my consoles over, though I can't decide if I want to take my RGB modded Twin Fami or Duo-R.

Cool, just make sure you bring an RGB cable. JP21 preferred, but if you only have a SCART cable, I do have a converter.ApolloBoy wrote:Alright, sounds like the Twin Fami will be making an appearance then.
If the controller ports are the same as regular famicom I have plenty of spare controllers.
Bring it on, I have a Mitsubishi LCD that is supposed to work in 15/24/31 so I'd like to test if it works properly.papa_november wrote:I could always bring mine
Note that I sold everything, including the MIDI module, joystick, compact flash, converters, etc. so you'll need to bring games, controllers, keyboard, etc. I have a 15 pin VGA converter, however.
Re: SF Bay Area / Norcal / San Jose meet 2014, Sat. June 21
I only use SCART cables so I'll need to use your converter. I also recently modded it with NES controller ports so no need for special expansion port controllers.alamone wrote:Cool, just make sure you bring an RGB cable. quick question: after the meet, will anyone be driving back near a BART station (any station) and could give me a lift when they leave? I've got transportation there covered, but will need to figure something out for getting back to the east bay.

Invites have been sent. PM me if you have not received one.
I'm asking everyone to bring at least one food or drink item for entry, with exceptions for those bringing hardware.
Please post what you will bring in the thread. Thanks.

Should I bring my U2312HM again?
Re: SF Bay Area / Norcal / San Jose meet 2014, Sat. June 21
No, I got enough LCDs already.
Re: SF Bay Area / Norcal / San Jose meet 2014, Sat. June 21
I'll bring a few pints of Marianne's Ice Cream. Do we have some metal spoons or ice cream scoops?

No scoops, I have a few spoons but not enough for everyone.
Re: SF Bay Area / Norcal / San Jose meet 2014, Sat. June 21
Oh yeah, I forgot about spoons for eating. I'll get those.alamone wrote:No scoops, I have a few spoons but not enough for everyone.
I'll bring five pints of different flavors and let them sit out in room temperature for ~10 minutes to soften them. If your spoons can handle them, great. Otherwise, I'll grab some of these, too.

Damn, Al's gettin' crazy with this stuff. Looks like a great time will be had by all attendees. I get to work every Saturday and Sunday (yay!).

Update: I am not going to be able to make it until 2 or possibly even 4 PM due to a special event.
Is it OK if I bring another guest, provided he shows up later and doesn't stay long?

Sure that's fine, I think we'll manage. I got the Naomi setup until the X68000 relieves it of duty.papa_november wrote:Update: I am not going to be able to make it until 2 or possibly even 4 PM due to a special event.

Just confirming I'll be able to make it. To be completely honest I'm not sure what kind of food/drinks I'll be able to bring because I have a really busy schedule that morning up until the meet starts.
But for now I'll say a few 2L bottles of soda -- any group preferences? Looks like we already have 7up so maybe I should get something like Coke, Dr Pepper, and Root Beer?

There's a 7-11 within walking distance of my apartment if you are pressed for time.
I have bottled water and I'll probably buy a few sodas to start things off.
I think self-contained cans or bottles are preferable to large 2L bottles since I'd prefer not to have cups lying around which are easy to spill.
