Seeing as I ride a bike everyday, the one thing that annoys me most is the folks who seem to be in the biggest hurry to go someplace and seem to like to cheat death. I'm talking about idiots who like to pass me(while I'm doing above 20mph myself) while I'm nearly getting passed by a car going in the other direction. I don't know how many times I feel as though I'm about to be witness to some jackass who must just pass me so quickly as to get in a huge wreck.

Giving someone a deserved reprimand, and feeling like crap later, regardless of how in the right I was.

I know that feeling. it's better than not saying something and wishing you had though. That can eat away at you.Specineff wrote:Giving someone a deserved reprimand, and feeling like crap later, regardless of how in the right I was.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Heh, I know that feeling...I'm not usually good enough to clear games I try out, but oftentimes I do get a little ways in "playing it safe" and think to myself "this isn't that hard" and begin to play more daringly...and from that point on get absolutely nowhere.Jonst wrote:That I cleared bullet soul IB,burst mode on my second ever go on the day I got it and havn't done it since due to cocky play on my part...it's not that difficult either...
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Also annoying is the fact that BSIB and some other games are a breeze but then I screw up the final boss, making the rest of the game feel like a waste of time, fast striker comes to mind...

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
I was at the bank today making a deposit.
I asked the teller for a roll of half dollars (they are a bank afterall, so they should have these on hand) and she said that they were in the vault and that I'd have to come back Monday.
Are you kidding me? Talk about pathetic customer service. She didn't even bother asking her colleagues to see if they had any on hand.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
As someone who works at a bank, I do have to mention that where I'm at we very rarely get discontinued coins/bills in: we don't have any at our branch unless a customer deposits them. Still annoying that you didn't get what you were looking for, but I doubt very many banks have ready supplies of those on hand (or else the one I work at is just terrible, which is a very distinct possibility).
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Dollars (well, the Ike variety) were already getting hard to find 15 years ago. Kind of surprised about the halves but it does make sense; nobody really uses them in day-to-day business.
Nobody really thinks about it, but the current batch of coinage is mostly shrunk versions of old coins - there was a time (over 150 years ago, of course) when many coins were pretty big. Wouldn't be surprised if eventually we get higher-denomination coins in the same sizes as current coins.

Ha, I hate it when I get those sort of dreams! So many games I'll never actually play because my subconcious created them for me. The latest was a bullet hell version of Scramble Spirits for the Master System.
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Yeah,it's annoying to have those dreams. The thing is I could get the pcb for that money!

>listing item for ebay
>person with history of mostly selling asks you if you'll do a BIN just for them at your OPENING bid price
>item is worth at least $100 more than their offer
FLIPPER SPOTTED
Edit: And speaking of "insane prices," eBay's "new" (well, it's been in place for many years now) Buy It Now handling is ridiculous. In most auction categories, a single bid makes your carefully-chosen BIN option evaporate, rendering the exercise useless. For stuff that's hard to gauge buyer interest in, yet you have a firm idea what a good BIN would be, this just fucks everything up, because now you have to go with the low-ball auction price until the item ends, with no way to communicate to buyers what the expectation is. Blah.
Some raving fools have complained that having a durable BIN would effectively cap the auction, but this criticism doesn't make sense. That's either just a mixture of gambling and greed - hoping to price something far above the market - or ignorance about the price of the item. I'd just like the market pricing to hold with an option for people to see the BIN as a guide for their expectations. If I didn't want a BIN, and truly didn't know how to price an item (and not just because of being a lazy sot) then I wouldn't put a BIN on. Additionally, eBay could improve its behavior by allowing sellers to determine when the BIN disappeared - say sellers could put in place a cap for 50% of the BIN price before the BIN disappears.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
that feeling you get when you have a day off and you don't even waste your time wisely
I end up just aimlessly browsing the internet, checking the same 5 webcomics I read multiple times a day even though I know they update only once daily. I don't even play any games on days like that! Awful. I could sell all of the non-portable consoles I have, really. Barely touch them now.
and then even if I do relax "the right way," I feel bad about having not done anything productive
Shit's annoying.

Agreed. It's not so annoying when Canadians do it. Or anyone else for that matter. Only Japanese.

Yeah, that's definitely a pretty universal trait, especially at work...I've never been to Japan though, maybe they're especially adept at it.

#1 internal interviews you think go well, then the interviewer (your lead) twists your words, makes shit up and forwards
that off to the individual responsible for making the final decision.
#2 finding out your co-worker who performs the exact same function as you is being paid $50k more than you are solely because
of a slight difference in title.
