My wimpy Intel-integrated laptop is running it pretty capably, at least in a window: it stuttered and wheezed a bit, but for the most part everything is smooth.

While I do share at least some of the "I wish it was DRM-free" sentiment, I still really hope this game does well: especially for the asking price it's tough to find it in me to complain.

Same. I'm so happy it runs this well, it was the main reason stopping me from grabbing Astebreed. Also, this game is ridiculously good!

Anyone able to run this in Windows 8.1? It crashes as soon as the "press start" menu appears :/ In case anyone is wondering, I have an NVIDIA GeForce GT 745M and the latest driver.

Can't play a lot today, but I made it to the stage 5 boss by going purely for survival. The game seems very different and a lot harder than the original, so it looks like I'll be spending a bunch of time in training mode to relearn everything lol.

PS. Type 3 is bananas

Yes, got CC:WI to run on Win 8.1 OS on a laptop with the recommended 1280 x 720 resolution running in an arcade-spec 60fps framerate -- it's jaw-dropping awesome. It's just a mere 780.6mb d/l at best. Wow, yotsubane sure went the extra mile with this CC:WI release. Am going to see how CC:WI fares on a 32" bigger HDTV setup with the laptop's HDMI output...am sure plenty of "candy eye" assault on the senses to behold, indeed.

What 360 joystick driver do I d/l for Win 8.1 so I may hook up a Hori RAP to the ol' laptop and play CC:WI with proper Seimitsu arcade controls?

So are the Type-Z unlock requirements the same, minus the shop? Or is it tied to those medals you get?

Also this is REALLY good. I'm rubbish at original but boost is super fun. Permanent Break mode is great.

Thanks for this info. After reading it I gave into the hype and purchased. I hope I find it to be at least 10% as awesome as everyone else thinks it is. lol.

Had kind of a frustration when Jamestown crashed before starting gameplay (I think they eventually updated it to require dx10 or something because PCs are a terrible terrible platform for games)

Just bought it, played for 105 minutes by Steam's count, and love it.

Starting this up meant all the amazement I felt when first playing the original CC disc version and then some. The graphics and gameplay tweaks on top of an already great game make this an 11/10.

It's nice how Joy2Key is no longer necessary for arcade stick users BTW.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Yup, my setup is 8.1, and it came up with no problems - not sure what the issue might be on your end.

Crimzon Clover: World Ignition plays and looks crisp. Snatching the Deluxe Edition for $5.59 during the pricing error was cool, too.

I need to get used to the changes here and there between this and the original PC release. Starting to like the Type-III ship a lot, but that slightly delayed Lock-On release compared to other ships (seems that way) is going to trip me up for a while. Still thrilled to be playing this version and getting my ass kicked by it.

Too bad the soundtrack has a 128kbps bitrate and full screen mode doesn't work. Otherwise I'm having a blast!

Assuming the unlock requirements are the same as the AC version, it's just 3 million total stars.

Yeah I got the same problem with the fullscreen mode. Here's hope that gets fixed soon.

Any of you guys figure out how to change the resolution? It automatically puts it into 1280x800 for me and I can't figure out how to change it.

Fullscreen works for me.

The achievements seem bugged though, I got the one for beating Arcade Boost "without continues or restarts" and I just credit fed all the way through.

In one run or overall? The game tracks stats so I'd assume that.

I am assuming it will be overall and there is an achievement for earning 3 million stars. Even a bad player like myself doing full novice clears its 5-600,000 per, so it shouldn't take too long.

Confirmed working on an intel i5 notebook with integrated graphics (around 1.6gb vram, I think?.) But it doesn't support dx10 or opengl >2.1

Best Original Mode day one run so far, 1.836chou to the Stage 5 BOSS.

Starting to get a feel for the Break Mode timings now.

Also, a Time Attack run scoring 5308oku with Type III.

Love this mode, fast and aggressive.

Wow! This version is amazing. It's like the developer put a fresh coat of polish on everything and I'm rediscovering the game all over again. Where to begin...

Just a few things I noticed:
- New modes. Boost Mode is awesome, but Simple Mode is removed. Time Attack has also been added.
- As an additional compromise for the removal of Simple Mode, a Novice setting of Boost and Original modes has been added.
- Type III ship!
- Crisp, shiny new graphics for a lot of game assets. The game looks more polished overall.
- Online leaderboards for basically every ship and difficulty mode combination.
- The game feels a lot more difficult for some reason. The game's Novice mode feels a lot more like the original doujin release in terms of difficulty. Arcade setting is harder.
- Some new shot patterns for certain enemies and different attack/break timings throw some surprises at you if you've played the doujin a lot.
- Is it just me, or are the invulnerability frames and overall duration of Break Mode a lot shorter? I find it much more difficult to reach Double Break before timeout than in the doujin release.
- It's super cheap! Deluxe edition is less than 10 bucks right now.

This makes me rage:
- Full screen doesn't work =(. This is pretty distracting, hope it gets patched.
- Achievements are kinda distracting in a shmup. I keep getting them and looking to see what happened, then I get blown up, lol. Achievements don't seem to be saving, either.
- No sound test in the game itself, I want to listen to "Through the Wasteland" over and over =(. Still, it's not as if the Deluxe edition soundtrack is breaking the bank.
- I have work at 6am tomorrow, and I want to stay up and play Crimzon Clover some more =(.

I disagree. I had never played the original a whole lot, but I never 1ccd past the second boss in Original Mode. Whereas I 1ccd the first half of the game first try in Novice Original in this.

Yeah, maybe it would be more correct to compare Novice Original to vanilla Simple Mode, it felt pretty comparable to me. Arcade Original felt like hitting a brick wall, though. I can usually reach Stage 3 or 4 in vanilla Original, but I struggled in Stage 2 on this game (admittedly without putting in too many credits of practice yet).

Deluxe kru!
The game is definitely tougher than I remember it but nothing a quick 10-15 restarts can't fix to get in the groove, I got 22bil and 17k items in stage 1 original, and triggered Tank Mania, cool that there's a "trick" achievement for each stage (except 5?), and like 146bil after dying on Heca.
Being able to use the old HUD graphics (blue stripey metal) owns, pleasant surprise there, just feels like it has a bit more personality.

Weird stuff:
How do you get replays from the online leaderboards? Maybe you can't but I figured you can since the game gave this impression that it'll have basically all the same features as the Ikaruga port (same price point, co-op but local only, all the ancillary stuff like steam trading cards)
Where do you see what those small achievement icons in the HUD mean? STATS doesn't tell me, and they don't seem tied to the Steam achievements.

Btw, if you got the OST, plug in and listen to Evil Miasma all the way to the end, fav track for sure.

Time Attack is lovely. Boost is great as well.

I like Type 3, but I keep double KOing bosses because its lock on has such a delay. :x

Yeah, I just reached the last form of TLB in Novice on my first try while I never got past the Stage 3 boss in Doujin's Original. And I consider myself a casual player.
