We need new blood.
Isn't that ~80% of the active player base already?

haha!

I didn't mean to suggest that playing CAVE / Raizing is bad or anything, just that there is other stuff worth playing, and that a lot of people tend to ignore. That's basically it. OP should also play CAVE / Raizing games, but in addition to trying other stuff too to see if there isn't something else that also appeals / appeals more.

Also, I've heard (though I don't have any first hand experience to go on) that Batrider is fairly accessible when played T-Ball style, which is about the most you can say of most of CAVE's "easy" games.

Also, BWR+ is a good recommendation to newbies, generally speaking, though I personally find the hitboxes difficult (probably would go away if I played it enough). Even I can 1cc heaven, tho. Can't argue with that price, either 8)

Which games are going to be do-able for a low skill person such as yourself? Any of them.
Shooting games are more about time and dedication than skill in my opinion.

Instead of finding a games you can do good at, I would suggest to find something you are happy to play for a long time, even if you suck at it.

You are going to suck for quite some time anyway, playing an easy game won't hide that fact from yourself. Speaking from experience here ;)

TL;DR go play psiyko

Yeah, Mushi Futari Black Label (original mode) would be a great game to sink your teeth into.

It's pretty easy, for most people who have been playing for a while, so it's great for beginners. It's also a great game.

Akai Katana is also pretty easy to get into(the bosses are kind of hard though), but I'm not that hot on it.

We need more Bakraid players. Maybe there have been some people playing and not posting scores, but I know the playing pool has dwindled when I'm actually above Icarus on a scoreboard.

I'd say that getting above me on a scoreboard isn't particularly difficult if you're anywhere near decent at games. :p

Anywhere near decent? Then I guess I've achieved my goal.

But then you have to also consider that it took me just two hours in short savestate-focused practices to nail the full Naval chain after returning to the game from a several-year break, and another two hours to get Desert down (including a mini-optimisation at the end for an extra 30,000 x 64), so don't rest on your laurels just yet. :p
