Good luck to the guy, it's always good to have a viable alternative to the market leader.

When I was in Texas I went to 3 locations. One is where I got my copy of Kyukyoku Tiger II Plus Saturn and Image Fight/X-Multiply PS1 games at. The prices for both were $50 a pop, not bad, but the common stuff there was a tad high for cart only (sports titles were the lowest at $4.99). I found it odd that a game like IF/XM could be so cheap, but a Moero Twinbee FC cart going for $40 could make me glad I got Stinger instead. They do tend to get some good stuff in, but from what I hear, they don't get as much good stuff as they used to, or had when I paid my visits.

That store also had Gekirindan for $50 (a little high still) and Wonder 3 Saturn for $50 (compared to online, that's a steal), but someone from another forum I go to pikced those up. He also picked up IF/XM for me when he was there as I failed to pick it up the first time. He mentioned he was going there, so I asked him to pick that up for me. Promptly paid him after he posted a picture that he had gotten it (I knew him for quite a while, so I trusted him) and got my game for exactly what he paid for it.

When you do walk into a GO store though, you are amazed by what you see, games, games, games everywhere. Good classic stuff, lots of goodies, free play arcade cabs (San Antonio has Strikers 1945and a beautiful cocktail Space Invaders Part II, Austin's original store has Sunset Riders, the now closed and moved to Austin store had no machines, and the one in Houston has Ghosts N Goblins. I know when I walked into my first one in San Antonio, my jaw freaking nearly fell to the floor, but my wallet left that location screaming, and the other 2 stores I visited my wallet was on life support. 8 games, plus a box for my Genesis Chiki Chiki Boys, $187.

All in all I'm half warm, half cold to them, do wish they expanded one state to the right of Texas.

We have a Play N Trade here, but GO likely would suffer the same fate, good business, but hardly anyone trading in good old stuff that I don't already have. Kinda hard to do though when you own nearly 1,100 games.

lol. Goes for minimum $65 here in Tokyo. I was looking at picking it up last week, but passed. $50 is a steal! Especially in a retail joint.

I didn't bring enough cash though, this find was unexpected (all 4 import PS1 and Saturn titles were).

Before I had a Saturn, I'd regularly see it for $30-35, boy do I wish it stayed at that price.

I forgot to tell the guy about the Saturn games, when he found them, he told me about them. I did tell him I forgot to mention them as I didn't think he'd want them. Better they go to a good home though instead of sitting inside a store unloved.

I used to frequent the first shop when it was just Dave himself working there. Got some good deals. I'm glad he and his stores are doing well.

I...really ought to slide by there again some day, but just never have the time.

EDIT: good write-up Brett
