Ut oh, guess I better check my Fire Barrel. Are there other IREM boards with these kinds of caps? BTW: I've played on that board when it was in the Troc years ago. I hope someone got the nice Jaleco Pony cab it was in.

I've only noticed it happening on M92 and M107 boards, with brown caps. It would be worth inspecting any other types with brown ELNA caps just in case. I haven't seen any green ones leaking so far. These definitely weren't used on M72 or M81, Bomberman World seems to have brown ones - I'd just keep an eye on all the others. I'm guessing it's a particular cap date range where there's a problem, since it mostly seems to affect Undercover Cops and Fire Barrel (and games from that period).

Personally, I checked my M92 boards and found the brown caps on 5 (on 14 boards) of them : Hook, In The Hunt, Undercover Cops JAP (and not on the other versions), Perfect Soldiers and R-Type Leo.

I immediately changed all the caps on the R-Type Leo because cap C202 was already leaking (fortunately no damage on the pcb and game running perfectly fine).
I will change the caps on the 4 other later but it's boring to do :)

Thanks for the heads up System11.

And on the topic ... finally !!!

Hey everyone, just recently got into arcade stuff so I figure I should join communities more based in arcade things. No shmups in my collection quite yet, been a little more focused on brawlers, but hopefully will fix that soon.

Anyways, Alien Vs Predator. Always time to hunt. My personal favorite brawler, and I'm really looking forward to getting 1cc's on hardware for this one.
Image

Bad Dudes Vs. Dragon Ninja with a really ratty manual.
Image

KaGeKi because it was dirt cheap and is hilariously terrible.
Image

Die Hard Arcade and the STV motherboard. I always loved this as a kid and hopefully I can learn how to play it properly now.
Image

And MVS stuff. The blue cart is King of Fighters 98, with an unfortunately torn label. Metal Slug 4 is the complete kit, and Sengoku 3 is game and box only.

Hey MURPHAGATOR! Welcome to the forums :)

How much was that KaGeKi? I kinda want one, I love the Japanese street punk theme far more than I should

I actually got it for $10+shipping, but it was listed as untested/as is so it was a risk for sure.

Can I convert my Crime Fighter (US) into (JP) by just burning EPROMs or is it trickier than that?

Overclocked yet someone swapped in an underpowered CPU!

Looks like a 10 or 12 MHz rated CPU? Stock is 16.

Should be interesting to see if it's still working in a few months :)

Hmm i dunno if it's technically overclocked, I just know the sound is fast/high pitched. Also, there was some confusion but it turns out JPN danguns and international Fever boards have slightly different chips. Here's mine, looks 16Mhz to me:

I'm still kicking myself over stupidly loosing an eBay auction back in 2008/9 for Armed F! over some piddly amount. I've had it on my watch list since then and never seen one appear ever again. :(

How do you do to buy from Try, do you use a middleman or a proxy service ? I suppose it is not possible to contact them directly (?)

Learned about the game from one of the threads here - Gun Master. Very interesting game, it's kind of like an arcade version of NES' Street Fighter 2010. The game's all bossfights which you can tackle at the order of your own choosing (except for the first and last) and the player character has many attacks at his disposal though the game uses only two buttons. Many of these aren't even revealed in the game's attract mode so it's cool when you figure out how to do a new attack.
