Meanwhile, back on topic.. I ended up with that same board.. from Japan, sold as Japan version. Plays with English text and has same copyright screen as yours. Photo looks identical to Original Japanese pcb, but the U26K, U27K instead of the U26, U27 on JP ver.
The components and the board itself are on par with Japan ver. and look very different from an international pcb (blue vs. orange film caps, different stickers on chips and board.. and the obvious ATLUS logo not present on International). Also, the Japan and this pcb use Toshiba on the chip below the eeproms, while the intnl. is pictured with a Motorola.
I would very much like to know more about this too.. Thanks!

Yeah, looks identical to the one I had. I have no idea where it is now, nor did anyone have any answers about it :S

They are exactly the same as the International version, I dumped mine at the time.
