Tournament standings have been updated > link

This week the "losers of Elimination Round 6 - Winners Bracket" will play against the "winners of Elimination Round 6 - Losers Bracket". Those teams who have lost their second match during Elimination Round 6 are now out of competition. Thank you for having joined and played in our contest. Maybe until next time :)

Am I right in saying this is Strikers 1945 III? What makes the Korean version different?

this is not strikers 1945 iii, but it is a giant psikyo ripoff made by a totally different group. some weird changes and additions... despite the proper bootleg feeling, it's a very interesting game.

can't believe i just missed a million... fucking ship speeds. trying to find something decent.

Where did you guys even find this game?

I think this is the first shmup I've seen that steals sound effects from Megaman X!

it's actually a bit more common than it has any right to be. since people going through mame (rightfully) confuse it with strikers, it tends to get downloaded and played... which is kinda the point, but yeah.

i find the miniature ray force area 2 mid-bosses everywhere kinda funny.

Ok, I have no idea what happened.

Shortly before the boss 3 fight I had 800k and was on my last life. During the boss fight I lost a life and was confused that I didn't get a game over. Then I looked up at my score counter it went to something over 3mil out of nothing. At first I thought that my score counter went down to 300k, it took my quiet a while to realize what happened. I guess I even got 2 extends from the score and lost one of those during my confusion. But I can't remember exactly, I was too confused trying to figure out what my score counter is displaying.

So I either triggered some super hidden scoring trick or a rare scoring bug. But whatever I did, it was totally by accident. :P

I wish I'd recorded an inp. So I could look up what I actually did there.

Edge, you are too good! Blasting the game up without even trying

The slowdown in this game feels like a worse version of playing Cave games with fake blitter. I don't mind slowdown, but some consistency would be nice.

This sounds like something that happened to me but without any of the scoring benefit. I was assuming the extend was at 800k?

EDIT: Save stated a bit to see if there was anything buggy about the extend, didn't find much. Played a little further and... wow, I think that boss form is just worth 2.5 million or something! Game is poverty as hell.
EDIT2: Tried it again and nothing this time. ?_?

You guys are getting slow down? I can't attest to that, in fact sometimes it feels like the enemies are spewing out their patterns all at once. Its nice to be playing something that's a bit more bullet hell.

Ive only started playing shmups seriously since last year, Ive been into them since I bought the Gamecube port of Ikaruga back in 2005. I've come to realize that my method of trying to 1cc games fresh out of the box wasn't working. I think from now on I'll put more time and energy into learning games, writing strats and drawing stage plans starting with this weird game.

I'm guessing they replaced the gold flash with Lucky Seven?

yes, 7s are the best at 3000 points per. second best are BARs at 2000, third best are cherries at 1000.

I am expecting a lot of 20 mil scores to be posted tomorrow. Everyone probably already has these kind of scores and is just holding them back. :p

Guess there isn't much use in sitting on this one. I got a 23 ("Big 3") million in practice off a save state, but I haven't been able to get the timing and bomb stock situation quite right to put it together in a real run yet.

Nice score, Kitaru. I haven't optimized that scoring bug technique to that level yet.

Does this game even loop ?
If it does loop it would be possible to cash in the scoring bug twice in one run.

Probably my last score. I will go out and have some beer now, so i doubt i will be in the mood to play again later.

Edge - 16,886,900 - 1-5 - Tornado

I THINK it is 16 mil. But the way the counter works after 10 mil is confusing. Maybe kitaru knows this better. My first digit cycled from F to A and then to first digit empty. Which I assume is 16 mil.
Because F is 10 mil, E is 11 mil and so on.

Thanks for the clarification on the score, so i had 14 mil, not 16 mil.

Ok, I made one more score.

@Blinge:
The trick is to destroy the first phase of the 3rd boss as quick as possible. That's all you need to do to trigger the bug.
