Nice to hear that DFK BL is being added: hopefully I'll be able to actually try it out before deciding if it's worth jumping through hoops to make a euro Live account and obtain European Microsoft Fun-Bux

DFK BL was programmed by Yagawa. If you don't get it, you risk being excommunicated from the church.

But I'm the Pope of the Church of Yagawa! His commandments were revealed to me first, by Based YGW himself during his First Cumming!

In all seriousness, if I like it in MAME I'll make the effort to buy it: I can't play CV1000 games in MAME seriously with the sound stuttering on my hardware anyway, but I can at least get a feel for the gameplay in it.

I like how they avoid hypers and raising rank, probably to not show how completely unplayable it really is.

I think there's a high chance they don't know how it works. If it is slower than the actual PCB I'll be impressed, because that craaaawls.

That's what he means. It's probably going to run at full-speed most of the time which will make it totally unplayable because CAVE can't design games to run at full-speed.

Replacing the files of 1.5 with bl and launching with blitter delay slider somewhere around 63-73 makes it a lot more playable.

lame footage of stage 1 on 73%, trying to keep max rank https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOgktjUlOdc

Are you guys saying that mame isn't emulating slowdown correctly or what?

It's never emulated the slowdown right, and until someone gets off their lazy butt and adds wait-states to the CPU core (it's actually pretty easy! just do it already!) it'll never be right. That's not all there is to it, but that's a big step.

(but seriously, why are you opposed to working on CV1000 stuff? I don't actually care that much about the emulation, just wondering)

Is the port seriously so bad that an unofficial inaccurate emulation would be considered better? I mean the port plays perfectly fine to me, I don't understand what the big deal with it is.

A bit inaccurate slowdown emulation is a small price to pay if it means less input lag, I haven't tried the pcb so I don't know if it's the original delay, but the delay on the 360 was pretty horrible making the game a lot harder than it seems, after a week on sdoj I played dfk and it felt a lot more responsive regardless of difficulty level.

MAME's CV1000 has worse input lag than the SDOJ port, so have fun with that.

I'm opposed to CV1k emulation because it's too soon even by MAME's own guidelines.

MAME's guideline was always unofficially '3 years' after market

we're actually making an exception by excluding SDOJ right now.

agree with the policy or not, that's what it was historically.

most recent hardware is too advanced for it to really make any difference at this stage tho.

nobody really cares enough about doing the slowdown properly, if you want it done, like pretty much everything in MAME, you'll need to do it yourself and submit it. code doesn't write itself, you can't expect it to, somebody has to do it.

Because the poor emulation may encourage people to go out and buy it instead of pirating it, since the ports are easy to acquire.

seriously people play without asking questions about slowdowns, it really interested forum that some specialized shmup player and many players waiting for emulation (Erppo, Prometheus, ...) correctness cv1k for comfort, save state, ease of testing, ease of playing on a PC that although they have all Cave ports 360 and pal jap, in my case.
depending where you live play has some 360 cave is not so easy.
more apparently you have already done much of the work that you were offered a Mame there some time.

made a gift for communaute.i you'll be very grateful,at least for mushi serie and pork.

Unless you own the PCB, you don't have the right to play the arcade games, just play the ports. ;)

I think 3 years after the last time a game is sold would not be unreasonable. Of course then you end up with people like Capcom releasing Ghosts n Goblins until the end of all time.
