I have been playing Gyruss on the NES
Its been long time since I play serious like this. The game sure like to throw a bunch of 1up's! Helps too! I remember as a child I use to say "ah -- a free guy to make up for the lost"
I have also played some Power Strike when I am on the SMS but have been playing a ton of Alien Syndrome and Time Soldiers.
Ibara: When I go on score I die at Stage 2 Boss, when I play only to survive I died at the stage 4 Boss with only 5 mil. (arrange) But although it is so hard, it's fun! ESPGaluda: I managed finally to get the bonus life in stage 3 and improved my score to ~12 mil. Mushihimesama: I tried to get another 1CC with a better score this time, but I was too bad this time. Only Scoring in Stage 5 was really good.
Currently trying to beat 2nd boss. If I can kill that one, stage 3 (which isnt nearly so damn annoying) will go down well enough. It's stage 4 that'll be the big problem for me (though the boss isnt that bad..... why is the 2nd boss the worst of all of them?)
I can GET to the 2nd boss without bombing (though I MIGHT use a bomb on the first boss's laser string attack, I constantly forget which hole I should be sitting in), but I'll then drop bombs like candy once I get to the little nightmare.
Thunder Cross, the superior JP version of course. I love this game's soundtrack. Did the game's composer(s) happen to work on the Thunder Force series at any point? Because the style of music between them is noticeably similar — particularly Stage 4/Great Battleship and the Strite Boss theme/Evil Destroyer. Also, is there any point to shooting those hidden animals (octopus, fly) in TC1?

Then I guess liking Thunder Cross II goes without saying. By the way, right now that's what I'm playing!
Geometry Wars Galaxies, for the Wii. And I'm still trying to get the feel of it. It's been a while since I played an arena shooter with any sort of passion. And I'm talking "since the 80's" dude!
I finally got a dedicated Berzerk cabinet and I am remembering why this game used to cause me to bang the hell out of the control panel. It seems like it should be so simple and the game is fricking impossible. Impossible but as great as I remember it.
Always playing a few credits Muchi Muchi Pork whenever I'm in a game center which has it. Otherwise, DrumMania V4, which I still suck on after 2 months, and Tetris Crystal on my cell phone...
