For some reason I just can't get into it anymore. Maybe I just got way too used to DoDonPachi, and going back is just a strange transition.
I think Caves masterpiece is MF.

So, a friend borrowed me Espgaluda (Espaldadura! = Hard Back in spanish ) and, yeah I know I'm years late but it's fucking awesome. I'm getting addicted to the explosions sound effects! (especially on stages 4-5 where you get to blow big shit to kingdom come but the trains on stage 3 are cool too). It's, like, so freaking explosive! Somewhat, the sound on DOJ felt a bit muffled in comparison... Not that it's bad either (in fact it's a nice ride across hell) but it's just that in this one AT LEAST I have a chance of getting past stage 4 in one credit.

Raiden DX. Going from the Raiden Fighters games back to this has been rough. Not that it's a step down in gameplay, but I've stuck with the RF series long enough that it's weird to play any Raiden that doesn't have a bunch of varied scoring mechanics and random bonuses. Speaking of, I still can't believe this game actually gives a bonus for positioning your ship properly before the game auto-centers it for you.

That was my misphrasing. What I meant was that the RF games (specifically Raiden Fighters Jet) felt a lot more frantic in its scoring methods, where something like Raiden DX is more conservative and relaxed. Not that I don't miss dragging along a giant golden medal hovering next to my ship.

Oh shit, you're doing the EX?! The stage is pretty tough, but I think I could do it, but the boss wrecks me. And I can't imagine clearing the final level at a higher rank. (oh damn, just went and checked the hi-scores thread. nice work with the All clear at level 3)

Nice. I'm going to go back to Under Defeat I think once I 1CC Deathsmiles all Level 3. I would like to at least get to stage 5 one of these days.
