Having just stocked up on imports, I've been sinking time into Gradius for PC Engine, Gradius 2 and Nexzr for PC Engine CD, as well as Crisis Force for the famicom.

The last shooter I played was Gradius II (MAME), on the 18th. Hadn't played one for a long while before that, as well.

I did improve my skill at the game, though. I can get to the section with all the alien larva/facehuggers bouncing about  Need to spam more missiles/bombs.

I was playing Trizeal (PS2) a few minutes ago. I just got the game.. reached 4th stage on my 2nd go... lost 2 lives on 2nd stage... one because I didn't know SCENERY could kill me in a VERTICAL SHMUP made in 2002! It made me yell "GODDAMN, AM I BACK TO STONE AGE?" heh :D

But then managed to survive 'til level 4 in pure instincts (my previous play ended in level 2). Level 3 boss is awesome... Got an extend at some point of level 3, but lost 2 lives at level 4 ending my 2nd run at the game.

Then my 3rd and 4th runs ended at 2nd level again. Goddamn :)

Very cool game...

Mushihime-sama.

At the moment Im working on completely beating Arrange mode.

I can do the first 3 levels in that mode without taking a hit or using any bombs, but the fourth stage and those accursed snakes will often take a life offa me, and Im making too many mistakes in the 5th.

I can get to the boss at the end of that, and right now get it down to about 1/3rd health before I go down.

Im so close...... yet not there yet......

*edit*

Oh, and the original Giga Wing.

Im nearing the point of being able to beat it without a continue, and thus reach the true final boss.

But, it's difficult playing this on a keyboard.....

To beat TLB in mushi arrange you need to be really skilled, i no-missed until that boss but
i used some bombs on 4th or 5th stage... and i did beat him you can find my ALL score on mushi hi-score thread with a picture somewhere

Im finally getting close to defeating Arrange;

I've gotten to the point where the 4th stage isnt so hard anymore, nor the 4th boss, and the snakes, I've finally found the best way to deal with them.

Now if I can only stop getting so overexcited during the 5th stage.

Good, you need to be really careful in stage 5.... especially in later parts because it can get too hot :P
