Just gave it a quick run to see how it was on lvl2 +EX and cleared with Rosa, but I didn't get the TLB. What are the requirements exactly?

Don't quote me on this, but I think I remember reading something like you had to finish off every single boss in the game using the lockshot in order for the TLB to show up (damage them until they're nearly dead, then lockshot 'em). Might be a no miss requirement or something too.

I think it's just the lock shot that you need to do,if you need to no miss as well,that's not to difficult.I don't remember if I no missed but I did I beat the TLB a while back.

Update on my Deathsmiles IIX progress; Full level 2 Clear, TLB included. I'm considering using this as material for my YT Channel as it was a near perfect run.

From what I read on here you have to defeat all Bosses using the Lock On shot, clear the EX stage, and defeat Both forms of Satan Claws with the lock on shot. All that without continuing.

EDIT: I totally forgot one last, yet probably critical point; The cake that Satan Claws Drops after youve defeated him with the lock-on shot ( assuming youve lock on shotted the other bosses ), be sure to grab it before Satan Claws gets sucked into the portal. I believe grabbing it is what triggers the gangster wannabe to appear.

Oh OK, I actually tend to forget the lock on button even exists outside of powering up, and I certainly wouldn't have thought to use it on the bosses. I guess I'll give it another go tonight. Thanks for the info guys.

Thanks. I got my loop clear today. It was not actually as hard as i thought it would be. I used my bombs very sparingly because i was scared of voiding the loop requirements (last run was bombfree) so i died a lot. I think i will need to do some consistency practice on this for a while. I am pleased with my progress though. I am still just learning this game.

Congrats on taking it all the way! You must be dominating it pretty hard to be able to do it bomb-free. Good luck with the loop!

The overly complex scoring and orbs and transformations and all that shit really turns me off to it. I need some kind of beginners guide that lays shit out in detail so I can l2p

Part of the reason might be that DS IIX only runs on a Japanese X360 and as such only a small minority has access to it. Also, it's a bit much to ask for a beginner to shell out for an import console.

However, if they're using (inaccurate but free) MAME, they are not getting a true experience of the game. So now we compare MAME (a technically illegal way) to a modified xbox (illegal as well). Asking gamers to purchase a console that will play any region game for free isn't asking much.

I personally import because I can't afford PCBs (for now) or a cabinet and so I'm not contributing to the life of the shmup community in that sense. However, contributing in some way is better than not contributing at all. A beginner will make the investment if they're serious about taking this on as a hobby, and in that case I would always suggest getting at least and xbox. Casual gamer's of the genre might be more reluctant, but then they won't feel motivated to strive harder. That last statement is totally my opinion and I say it because I know I wouldn't try as hard if the game/console were free.

I understand what you mean about shin mode.it can be confusing and fiddly...which is why I would go for zetsu mode first as its simpler in terms of mechanics and as such is more fun! I'm no guide writer,but I have cleared all modes quite a few times,so would be happy to help with any advice,whenever your ready.

I will absolutely take you up on that. Any interest is creating a system guide for each mode with tips for stages bosses? Even if you just crapped out a bunch of raw tips I could rewrite everything out and credit you in a collaborative guide.

Didn't you finish reading my post, I don't partake or advocate piracy because thats not contributing to our community? I was comparing prices of all ways to acquire the game to show you that it doesn't cost much to invest in legal ways to get this game.

I should have some replays saved somewhere,so even I watch them and takes notes on what I did at various points or something? I've been trying to add to my pathetic list of 1CCs, so I decided to hit the PC Engine.

1CCd Gates of Thunder, Lords of Thunder, and Coryoon.

I know that's not impressive or anything, but my list was too small. I may put some time into PC Denin(Air Zonk). The last stage is a bit of a bitch though.

I had never been able to get into Lords of Thunder before...but it's pretty kick ass! The soundtrack is really something.

I have a problem with playing a replay (inp) records, there is desynchronization @ Stage 2 - Mid Boss, probably because blitter 63% option. I'm trying to find a solution, because I want to make a video...

After testing and research, I realized that the replay (inp) with blitter option can not make it work properly (desynchronization), which is why I forced myself to chasing 1CC again, but this time I recorded directly to video (avi) file.

If you bought the game for Xbox you could save/upload the replays online, or capture them with a capture device. It'd also be more accurate than playing it in MAME currently is.

Futari Maniac 1.5 Clear Palm - Abnormal

After not touching Futari for like 2 months and getting other 1CCs now I found it... easy. It's not about bragging... it's simply that feel when you realize you've gotten better simply by comparison.

2 months ago I could barely reach the end of stage 4 and today I got a Maniac 1.5 clear without even getting the second extend (fuck chaining) and braving the stage 5 by only dying once (on Larsa's last pattern). I still finished with 0 lifes and bombs though

Feels good man.
