Well, I don't really want to dabble into personal business (even though I think I have on here a few times), but I'll just say largely due to boredom and the inability to sleep when I want to. So yeah, as of late I usually just drink hard stuff and pass out so I can start a new day. I only drink at night, if that is any consolation. Kinda back fired tonight as I woke up early and am now hungover.

Yeah, I've been up since like 3:45 in the morning and it is nigh on midnight here now. Woke up from a bad dream and couldn't fall back to sleep. I dunno, it's kind of becoming a routine now. Probably not good. Drinking now, even. Probably won't get piss drunk tonight, though, as that 4 in the morning business is killing me.

Yeah, ya know, I kinda hoped. I tried sleeping pills, but they do absolutely nothing. I should probably just man-up and go to the doctor and get help with anxiety and depression and the like and see if that would do anything. I wouldn't really call it insomnia, because the problem with my sleep deprivation is from causes on and off through my life. Egh, pills just freak me out though; yet I have no problem with getting obliterated every night...hypocrisy, I know. I don't really mind this lifestyle, though, at the moment. It'll take time, but it'll probably pass at some point. So yeah, probably should assume me to be in this thread most of the time. Eh, at least I don't spread my drunken stupor throughout the rest of the forum...

I mean, tuna are commercially fished throughout the world to provide food to humans. A tuna is essentially born from an egg , they hatch, and then the move to a certain direction to spawn and reproduce; this is their life. There are no such things as "relationships", "careers", "monetary issues", or blah blah blah. You've got to watch out for predators if you are a tuna, and that is about it. Yeah, you are born with such a thing known as instinct, and you do it until you die. The end. With a human it's a bit different. I still don't understand what point you were trying to get at at this point. I wish I was born with a certain mentality that I knew I must accomplish, and BAM, that is my life. But if we really evaluate a human's life, it theoretically could be an assortment of ideas, goals, accomplishments, and the like. Most humans start life at a fairly equal standpoint, in the fact that they live by instinct and must feed, sleep, and survive. As a human gets older they develop their own personality and such; they create goals, dreams, and all of that other business. So what is harder: starting off with one goal, or starting off with infinite possibilities? I don't understand.

There's a difference between posting a "lol I'm drunk post" in a "I'm drunk thread", and posting a "I'm turning into an alcoholic please HELP ME" post.
The difference between me and some people is that I'm not going to acknowledge your self destructing behaviors using the excuse that we're on the internet and that on the internet nothing matters because we don't know each others yadda yadda yadda.

A respectable response, I appreciate that. Concern is a good thing to have, and I can assure you I am perfectly fine, and sympathy or anything to that degree is nothing I want. I would say that a grand amount of my drunken babble in this thread is purely "lol drunk". I've had one serious post that I have now deleted to stop such thoughts or concern in the future. Alcoholism is a hard thing to classify, but I know my limits and lead a fairly "normal" life outside of getting drunk at night and being silly on the internet. I post on here at night to enjoy myself, and that's really about it. Going back and re-reading my drunken posts I can see where one could see that I was looking for help or something to that degree, and I assure you I am not. I enjoy getting drunk, and I enjoy looking like an idiot at 2 in the morning on the shmups forum. I usually don't consider anger and name-calling concern as well, for those are things that lead to arguements and that sort of thing. Nah. I'm still here. But there's no 'I'm moderately buzzed' thread. I'm buzzed just enough I'm getting excited about the goddamn owl movie. I don't know how long it is. I'm hoping for 3 fucking hours of goddamn owls. I don't think there are any other animals or humans, just non-stop armor wearing owls. It's based off some books, which might even be good, but I'm intrigued/perplexed by the purity of a full length movie featuring nothing but talking owls. I'm looking forward to Ebert's 4/4 review.

Have you ever noticed that people who like certain things like other things as well? That statement is absolutely horrendous but I do not want to go back and delete it. I mean, I don't know a lot of people that play shmups, or care about them for that fact. Those same people also don't care about anything that isn't on the xbox 360 or the ps3 and yada yada yada. Same thing goes for movies and music and all of that. Lot's of people I meet don't care about anything that isn't new in the theaters or immensely popular. Same goes for music. Everyone listens to the same music where I live. Anyone who doesn't listen to the norm listens to indie rock and hipster stuff. Is this people? Are some people just satisfied with anything that is thrown at them? I don't get it. I just notice people on this forum who like these video games that most people don't care about also like movies, music, shows and the like that most people couldn't care less about as well. Why do people on this forum play these great games and also watch movies like Maniac, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, The Exterminating Angel, and Days of Being Wild? That is pretty much the first page in the "What movies have you watched lately" thread. That is an extremely wide variety of films, ranging from different countries and genres. The same thing could probably go if I looked into the music thread, or even the many gaming threads in the off-topic forum. Is this people? Are some people just satisfied more than others, or are some of us just bigger fans than others? I think this is people. People I meet who like things I like are generally different in their views, attitude, and tastes than mosts; yet, at the same time I get along with really nice rednecks around here who are simply nice to me and others around them. It's also by the same dude who made happy feet. There's definitely a mixed sort of talents and affinities afoot. I dunno, I want to give anyone who's willing to do something that is clearly visually queer (I don't mean gay, though that meaning might apply too) a chance. It takes guts for someone to commit millions of dollars to a talking owl picture. I have no expectations than to reward people with my hard earned dollars for making something that isn't another romantic comedy, football movie, war drama, action thriller, etc. etc. etc.

I really want to support unusual and creative things. Even knowing that most of them won't be worth the celluloid their burnt on. That said, I saw most of the films you mentioned above, and agree with your opinion, but I wanted to give them a shot.

Anyway, still not goddamn drunk, but two beers and a little scotch (less than a shot, just for sipping.) A pretty good evening.

You wrote something about wanting to see some clint eastwood. I want to watch conan the barbarian again. I keep thinking about it.

Edit: I think you're right. I was looking up a bit more on the owl movie, and I think that connection to happy feet is a bit overrepresented. Fuck! As long as there's no big blue dong flapping around in the film.
