I'll straight-up admit to using a trainer on the PC version to get souls. I don't use the infinite stamina/health cheats or the stat cheats or dupe items, but souls? Fuck yes. I've played through the game more times than I can remember, and I've spent probably a good 50-60 hours farming souls across various characters. It's unbelievably easy and nothing but time-consuming, so if I can bypass that bullshit with the push of a button instead of spending a few hours in the forest or dark Anor Londo doing the exact same stupidly-easy bullshit for hours on end so I can actually play the game... yeah.CMoon wrote:Went back to playing Dark Souls--made a 4th build and am running pretty quickly through the game. I remember my initial frustration, but I think Sen's fortress is my favorite part of the game. Probably the closest thing to some sort of 8 or 16 bit castlevania with all the traps, magic and well-placed enemies. First time 'round I actually used the forest hunter trick to level up my character quickly, but c'mon folks, 4th build. Also skipped most of Blight Town, coz really, who likes Blight Town?
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
Yeah, I hear you. At times I feel the game is much less for the grinding, and it suffers in comparison to Ninja Gaiden on Xbox (for example) for that very reason. I have no problem with constantly respawning to try again. But getting souls? lolrofl.CaptainRansom wrote:I'll straight-up admit to using a trainer on the PC version to get souls. Pretty high praise! I am kind of skeptical because it sounds like a rather repetitive style of experience - you just trek through the desert, over and over. But it does sound very interesting. For $30 I'd like replayability though.Strider77 wrote:Journey
OMG why didn't I play this sooner. It controls so well and it's incredibly pretty. Very differnt and highly recommended. I got the retail release and it was worth every penny of the 30.00 bucks I spent.

If you're not using a controller, you've already lost. Seriously, the keyboard/mouse thing just doesn't work with this game. =/Hagane wrote:Heh.njiska wrote:the true heart of the game is in the story and the characters.
I started playing a bit of Dark Souls. It has a few things I don't like, like not strafing when you move left/right and not being able to map the number keys (seriously, what the hell), but otherwise looks pretty cool so far, like a Gothic with better combat mechanics.
Very relaxing game indeed. I wish that there would be more animation frames though, especially given how clean the sprites are. My current best is reaching up to the third stage.Hammerin' Harry [Arcade/MAME]. Man, this is fun. Got up to the second stage without dying, and then lost all my lives in rapid succession. Didn't play too long though.
