yaya yay yay - I actually am pretty stupid and never realised 'Mr Circus' was involved in my beloved 0079,
though I of course knew of his involvement in SDF Macross.

Well, yeah. We are talking about infinite universe loops here. Everything that can happen does happen.

It's not as out-there improbable as a universe where Gendo hugs his son or anything.

Misato did promise there would be fan service. And by god, there will be fan service.

Even if it kills us.

got a chance to sit down and watch OVA 1 of Be-Bop High School and you were right Raytrace, its good stuff alright.
Wasn't sure if the two main delinquents Hiroshi and Toru were ever going to back their "shit" talk up, but they certainly did in the final third.
Really looking forward to seeing the rest of the episodes now.

You were also correct in hearing Norio Wakamoto's (Coach, Reuenthal) voice as the main rival delinquent Eda. Thats him no doubt about it.

yeah I think it's really good - Im about halfway through Vol 2 of the manga also and it is v entertaining. The last fight (particularly the way the movement of the final punch to the Reuntal guy followed through) was really well animated IMO. The bit when they finally announced who they were was 100% epic hotblooded anime. Yeah the second Eda talked I knew it was him - such a gravelly voice.

i thought the music was great, though I might have preferred actual rockabilly or something :p.

Yes, it's a rather long wait for us, and the budget is a sizeable amount of money.
Can't help but to feel like this might not get off the ground, but I really want it to.

Yep, and you should read his mangas (Nokemono to Hanayome is incredibly retarded), but I'm watching this shit anyway.

Highly awaiting the Bubblegum Crisis Blu-Ray set, and I am really excited that it's going to include Japanese subs.

I know it's a rarity, but can anyone here recommend some other well done US releases of anime that have Japanese subtitles included? I am only really interested in Blu-Ray atm unless there is a reason why a Blu-Ray release isn't likely or doesn't stand to really improve upon a well done DVD release.

Uh... almost all R1 DVDs and BDs have included subtitles for years. Only stuff you're going to find dubbed only is early 2000s and a handful of random OVAs.

I just finished watching Saint Seiya Legend of Sanctuary, and as a fan i feel a bit depressed, but not surprised for what i saw: Cancer Deathmask fans will probably be pretty pissed off for his introduction; Ikki was even more of an absent asshole than usual; The final boss fight scene was awesome until a certain facepalm scene; Hyoga VS Camus's fight was chilling to the bone (pardon the pun); Milo was genderswapped for God knows why; Everyone has yaoi faces, although that's a thing in the franchise, i guess.
Just youtube Deathmask's intro and be done with it.

I watched Otaku no Video, Golden Boy, and Macross - Do You Remember Love recently. All for the first time, and I really liked all of them.

Going to try Gunbuster now.

Watched 5 Centimeters per Second, full version at last (mighty high resolution, too). I could be too old to get the most out of it, but man, is it MAD pretty (ask any wheather expert). Basically, if you wanna see something pretty, you can't go wrong with it.
I wouldn't know about Makoto Shinkai's depiction of surfing subculture (any appropriate sea is nowhere near me), but I'd like to know what surfers think of Eureka seveN.

Do surfers even watch anime?

On another surfing anime tip, I started watching Overman King Gainer, I suppose as I'm finding it interesting to rewatch Turn A, watch Eureka Seven and Gainer at the same time as G Reco coming out every week.

I wasn't hoping for much from Gainer as people slag it so much, but it seems really good so far to me - I'm on episode 3. The art is great, fluid, expressive and most importantly for me, in general small eyed.

Rereading Blazing Transfer Student as HnG have scanlated so much now - it really is brilliant, and much as he may malign his own art in Blue Blazes - I really like his classic looking art style.

Yeah, he's definitely a talented artist regardless of what he says, but I guess this is the typical artist's dilemma of never being satisfied. Love the way he draws ladies ;). I'm probably going to go ahead and wait until the entire thing is done myself, even though that'll probably be a while. I don't like getting too involved in a story when I have to wait like that. The way Violence Jack is going I'll be able to just translate it myself since it's nigh on 40 volumes, and I think the translator stopped at Volume 3. :(
