Giant Gorg REALLY picks up at about episode 15 - it isn't Tomino but it manages to 'do a Tomino' pretty well (in terms of 'horror of war' feels).

You can speakuh Japanese? :o

I'm gonna make a bucket of GIFs out of that tomorrow - if only just because the processing I do will hopefully make them look nicer for me, and then I'll look at them over and over again :p. Well basically I'm probably gonna bilateral blur the shit out of them, but anything's better than that blocking.

Regarding ME!ME!ME!ME!ME!
I don't think I've been so aroused and then freaked out at the same time before. Certainly an experience...

It's also weirdly both cheaply and well animated. Odd stuff.

Also really feeling the hype with that Gundam trailer. While a bit artificial/too clean, the linework seems to have captured the old-school look and the 3D, while looking like 3D, also looks rather pleasant and maybe more than anything - silky smooth. I'm not sure how well silky smooth 3D will blend with 2D animations, but I'm also not a big fan of dropping frames on the 3D animation just to match them with the 2D stuff, as it tend to become jerky and unnatural. While I'm not super familiar with the original Gundam, I'm somehow really looking forward to this now

Edit:
Also found another (small) Yuri & Kei cameo in episode 44 of Patlabor TV:

Reading some of the Discommunication and Yume Tsukai manga, the previous works of Ueshiba Riichi, author of Mysterious Girlfriend X.
Well this is ten times better than MGFX, packed with fine art, cute girls, spiritual weirdness, and in some parts disturbing psychological, soft-gory and sexual stuff.
Noticed an anime adaptation of Yume Tsukai but it's nothing like the manga, stripped from all the NSFW things and peculiar atmosphere, the art and animation are pretty bad too.

Discommunication and Yume Tsukai seem not have been entirely translated so I'm missing quite a bit.
Still a good read.

Heeey you can't name drop Mysterious Saliva Fetish X without mentioning the saliva fetish. That's against the rules.

That'd be like bringing up Guts without mentioning his self destructive choking fetish.

apparently Discotek plans to announce a 'big title', hopefully next week. I'd love to see them licence The Legend of the Galactic Heroes, or more Lupin would be cool with series II & III. Perhaps they could finally give Galaxy Express 999 the proper release it deserves.

I think it's going to be a sports show, which they talked about announcing sometime last month. Kinda disappointed by their releases so far. Lot's of stuff that's already been released and still readily available, and really, isn't that good in the first place. Oh well, as long as it helps them sell and release other stuff down the road.

They deleted my Giant Gorg post... maybe it's that!

ahh, I see then. Been out of the loop so wasn't aware of their sports stuff. If that's the case then I certainly wouldn't say no to the likes of Ace wo Nerae!, Ashita no Joe, or even Touch.

thats odd they deleted your post regarding Gorg. You didn't happen to call them a bunch of cunts during your enquiry by any chance

Ha! I usually save that for the other ingrates that post on the Discotek page. Nah, it looks like they actually deleted every post to the page, but like seriously a few hours after I inquired about Giant Gorg. I SMELL CONSPIRACY.

Ok,. I am quite enjoying the Steins;Gate visual/novel game thing. I did not realise that there actually are quite a lot of these that have been translated.
However, everything I look at seems to be moé or just pervy in general - are there any ones which exist in english that you ppl could recommend - preferably in a sci-fi setting?

Started watching Dirty Pair, just finished episode 9. Episode 7 was my favorite so far, just for the amount of wtfuckery.

Those are few and far between, at least translated. You might like the amazing YU-NO: The Girl Who Chants Love at the End of the World. The main character is pervy, and there's some anime babes, but it's one of the most well written and intelligent ones out there. I need to go back to it and beat it. There's also a Space Adventure Cobra one for the SegaCD that was ported to the US simply titled The Space Adventure. Of course the Kojima stuff as well, both Snatcher and Policenauts, although they're a bit more like adventure games.

There's an infinite amount of stuff out there, a lot of sci-fi as well, but most of what's translated is going to have sexy bits. :/.

The library is finally getting new anime stuff in, and they have Kids on The Slope and Bodacious Space Pirates as new things in complete forms. Either of those worth checking out? Also they have something from last year that I can't find in the catalog that seems to be about a girl raised in some ancient temple that sounded interesting, but I can't think of the name and its been checked out since I decided to try it out. Stupid not remembering names.

watched some more Ultraman last night - I really like the camera angles/cinematography - you can definitely see some of it echoed in the animes.
