Who is located in this area and interested in getting a shmupmeet together? I’d try to organize one if I could get enough interest. Let me know!

I’m in Bellingham but I’d drive to meet you guys and game.

I got Irem M72 Multi, STV multi, Taito f3 multi, Gunforce, and Gradius 2 PCB’s I could bring one or two.

You got some cabs to play them on?

I have a new New City Setup for 360/PS4/Switch but it's currently sitting in my basement getting no love. Last I checked there was an ice cream shop in Ballard that has a Blast City. I might be able to work something out with em to host.

GameWorks in Seattle is a pretty decent place to host something like a shmupmeet too (i go there for Tekken tournaments sometimes as well as the occasional Tuesday/Thursday, since they host casuals there too). i believe they also have a Raiden Fighters machine and a Galaxian machine (which cost money obvs).

i can also make something happen in Olympia, i help manage a little gaming venue there already and train up my local Tekken scene + run tournaments. we've got a Pandora's Box setup that has an entire page of pre-2000s STGs on it, including DonPachi, DDP, Giga Wing, and Battle Bakraid! no DOJs/Ketsuis on it though. there's also Super Puzzle Fighter II on it if anyone wants to get bodied by my Lei-Lei.

Either your net city or the ice cream shop sounds awesome.

You should have a JAMMA loom but either way I could bring the has/OSSC combo as a backup.

@opt2not

Your only a brisk 18 hour drive away. Why not?

3 New Net Cities, an Astro, 5+ PVMs and Strikers/Garegga/RSG/TGM/TGM2/TGM3/Monkey Ball plus many many more! 360 and PS2 easily connected to the cabs as well, plus enough XRGBs and OSSCs and Datapaths to capture from probably every cab in the house at once. Just moved back into the area so maybe we should do a meet soon and break in the new house! I'm also not that far from Full Tilt (the ice cream shop). :)

i wonder if it might be a good idea to put together some sort of group chat/discord server/etc to discuss PNW STG meetups. i'm definitely itching to come through and play very soon.

maybe we should pick a Friday or Saturday this month to try to get something going? i'll be in Portland this Saturday for a tournament, but i believe the rest of the month my weekends are free...

Yeah. I was pretty hyped on Kevin's setup and doing it there but he's been MIA unfortunately :( Let's give it a few more days. If he doesn't respond perhaps we move forward with deciding on the best way to get a small meeting going and getting a date set.

OK guys, i bit the bullet and set up a server, "Pacific Northwest STG Squadron"! feel free to join if you're interested. invite yr friends too if ya want (even non-PNWers), it'd be cool to have a cute lil' hub for all the PNW shooting fans. i'm sure there are still plenty of us in the region. it'd be fun to have training partners/netplay going on too if y'all were into that. :D

hey PNW pals, just wanted to post up in here real quick~

it looks like we're gonna try to arrange something for early to mid March. we're not entirely sure when or where but if you're interested, post up and let us know! join the Discord too if you want to be involved in real time planning chat (or if you just wanna chill and talk shmups in a smaller, more private community). we've got 12 members joined so far, four from Washington and three from Portland. that's already enough people for an awesome potential shmupmeet.

I haven't been playing much lately compared to the past but I'm down for a shmupmeet if there's room for one more! I have a jtagged 360 with most every shmup on the console, as well as a Saturn with some games I can bring. I'll hop in the Discord at some point and say hi!

another update for PNW shooting fans! since the whole coronavirus thing is starting to get a little hot in the Seattle area, we're going to postpone our first shmupmeet for later in the month or sometime in April.

stay safe, clean and healthy, everyone! i'll post up in here again with new dates soon, just in case you might not be in the Discord yet.

I live in Bend, OR, but spend a bunch of time up in the Portland area for work. I'd be interested in attending for sure after the Corona thing dies down.
