Time to start planning for MAG. I'll work with Star about the cabs, but let's see who all is coming out and what wants to be run.

Pretty sure I'll have at least 4 tate candy. Only new board I got was Game Paradise. Still have Viper, Raiden Fighters, DoDon 2, DoDon DOJ BL, Espgaluda, Dragon Saber, Ikaruga, Sexy Parodius, Side Arms and Thunder Force. Along with the F3 and CPS2 multi's, we have any of the shooters on those platforms.

I know a lot of the regulars that know the drill, but if there are some new heads that have questions, just post up.

Radirgy (NAOMI GD-ROM)
Metal Slug X
In The Hunt
Pink Sweets
Prehistoric Isle 2

Thanks for the support as always!

I'll have Slug X, so save the hauling it out. I will not have a spare Naomi/GD-ROM setup for Radirgy this year.

I get word that a few shmup folks will be going to RAJ instead of MAG this year, so might be a smaller crew to run boards from. Star and Strider will still be at MAG, so I'll ask them for what PCBs they want to bring.

If you've got your own Slug X I can always bring Slug 4. Or Shock Troopers 2nd Squad.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I think the only things in my collection that don't overlap yours are Esprade and I guess Metal Slug 3 and Blazing Star as far as MVS carts go.

Esprade just needs a cab wired to feed credits on start as usual. I never got around to installing the free play mod.

I'd be happy to bring my DDP. It doesn't have a free play option, so it'd need some way to trigger coin-up.

How do I contribute? I've not done this before.

I'm actually looking into getting ROM chips burned with the free play mod for Esprade. Looks like a similar mod exists for DDP: https://github.com/Mikejmoffitt/ddonpach-freeplay

I could add it to my request list if you want, otherwise we just ran Esprade without mod and the start button wired to add a credit at another event this past weekend.

Hey thanks! I appreciate the offer. I think I'm going to pass at this time though. It'd be a fun project to see if I could flash some chips myself. :)

I'll have four CRT cabs setup tate for shooters. I do not think we need a planned schedule for when boards will be run like we did in the past, but let me know if you'all had any special requests. Otherwise, we'll play it by ear throughout the show. Most of you have my number if you need to track me down.

Zakk -> I'd not bother hauling everything, just a couple of popular or desired PCBs. Batrider is not ported, right? I'd def say bring that one.

Kiken -> I plan to run running Metal Slug 3, but we can also swap in some Neo shooters if you bring them. I have Blazing, Pulse, Strikers and Resort.

I'm sure Strider77 will have some boards to bring, but he has not let me know which ones.

We have a room across the street (Hampton or whatever). Probably better than fighting elevators in the Gaylord...

My plan was to bring one or two things anyways. I'll bring Batrider and maybe Garegga since that seems to be the tradition.

I'd like to get some Progear time in. That's about all I can think of.

I have an AvP planned to run on a CPS2 multi, so swapping it over to ProGear will not be an issue. I have the JP ROM now, so no complaints from the community. :)

It looks like I'm just bringing Esprade? Aside from the PS4 and 360 in cab setups, anyway.

I think the Ketsui (bootleg cart) might be a good thing to bring as majors has all the others on him if you're up for it zakk

TL;DR version

Kiken
ESPGaluda II
Radirgy (NAOMI GD-ROM) <- we do not have a mobo GD-ROM, so I wouldn't bother
Metal Slug X (maybe Slug 4 or Shock Troopers 2) <- personally, skip these and stick with PI2
In The Hunt
Pink Sweets
Prehistoric Isle 2

StarCreator
Esprade
Metal Slug 3 <- do not bother, I'll have MS3
Blazing Star

komidore64
DoDonPachi

zakk
Batrider
(maybe) Garegga
Ketsui?

Majors
ProGear (CPS2 multi)
Viper
DoDon DOJ BL (PGM)
Game Paradise
Twin Cobra 2 (F3 multi)
Espgaluda (PGM)

Everyone knows we cannot run everything but we'll do our best (without a schedule) to give some run time for what folks bring. All my stuff is basicly filler in case folks have not shown up yet or have to leave early.

I'm already on site, and only brought Esprade. Was not able to finish getting the free play mod applied.

I left NYC before the Ketsui suggestion, so I won't have that.

I grabbed Batrider and Garegga, so I'll have those.

Anyone want/need a room at the AC? We have an extra and the person that was going to take it sorta...didn't.

Hi Everyone!

I've been attending MAGfest for years, and am a long time lurker here, but haven't been too active. Are you guys planning a time to meet up? I'd love to to meet some fellow enthusiasts from the forum there!

It looks like you have most everything covered, I can bring some odds and ends since I am local if you need.

I have the 3 PGM Cave conversions, I can bring Ketsui if it is needed.

I'm not super active on forums during cons but if you hang out around the vert crt cabs, you should bump into the other enthusiasts.

Big thanks to everyone bringing cabs and games. Really enjoyed going to town on Garegga, Futari and DDP. It's one of the highlights of my Magfest every year.

Thanks to Kiken, zakk, StarCreator, komidore64 and Strider77 for supporting the unofficial shmups meet at MAGFest. I hope the mix was good and games had enough time to run for folks to play. This year, I pretty much swapped games each day around noon. I hope that works.

Maybe next year we can add more vert cabs and I can help with layout to have more of all the STGs together. The Neo's and some hori shooters got moved around.

See you guys next year! (Maybe I'll finally replace CP parts :) )
