Southern California Shmeet

Post by Ramus »

I want to have a shmeet at my house on Saturday, Jan. 21. I have two New Astro City cabs, a NEO GEO cab, and an old vertical cab that can only play PCBs with the "flip screen" feature. There will be food and drinks. If anyone wants to pitch in some cash to help, it would be nice, but it's not required. I was thinking of starting at noon and finishing late at night or when everyonr leaves. I have these games we could play:

PCB
Aero Fighters 2
Armed Police Batrider
Battle Bakraid
Blazing Star
Dangun Feveron
Do Donpachi Dai Ou Jou
Donpachi
Dragon Blaze
ESPGaluda II
ESPrade
Galaga
Gunbird
Gunbird 2
Ibara
Life Force
Raiden
Sonic Wings 3
Strikers 1945+
Strikers 1945 III
Tengai
Twinkle Star Sprites

I also have a TV we can tate if someone wants to bring a console.

What part of southern california are we talking about? LA/Orange County area?

If so count me in.

I have a pretty varied selection of Dreamcast and Saturn and dare I say it even a few Genesis shooters I could bring along.

eh that's not too far. If anyone in Orange County (huntington beach / westminster / garden grove area) wants to save some gas and carpool, let me know.

If you don't mind I would be interested. I'm in the city of Santa Ana so it's not too far from those cities.

Hmm, yeah, this sounds cool, and yeah, if anyone in the LA/San Fernando Valley area is lookin to carpool, hit me up on AIM. SN is Gilbordo.

Edit: On second thought, just reply to this post in the thread, since I haven't been on AIM to often lately

I would like to attend but I won't know if I'm free until much closer to the date. Sounds like we could potentially get one massive carpool going from the LA vicinity! Can the freeways handle a van full of shmuppers???

I actually got a modded PS2. It should be ready to go before the shmeet date. I have a big screen TV that we can play on and a TV to tate, so if someone brings another console we can put it on the tate TV. We'll figure out food and stuff next week.

I'm wondering who I should PM my address to... maybe I could just PM it to Ramus and let him sort it all out? It's not like I'm any good with directions anyway.

With benstylus bringing the other motherload, all I have to offer is my PS2 Dodonpachi Dai-ou-jou (for the DVD I suppose) and the Shikigami no Shiro 2 Appreciate DVD... and some cash for food and drinks and stuff...

OK, looks like Triple Lei is about 15 or so miles out of the way for me...

He's probably more out of the way to everyone else though (if the cities in your profiles are correct).

Is anyone coming from the Riverside/San Bernardino county area or the Eastern part of LA county (West Covina, Pomona, Ontario, etc)?

If you are, please get in touch with Triple Lei and see if you can make carpool arrangements.

If needs be I can do it, but I'm already picking up Sparky. And I have 2 door Neon... not a lot of leg room in the back seats...

Ugh, I'm up in Studio City (aka next to San Fernando and Burbank). I'd volunteer to drive, but

A. Don't know if I can go yet, depends on how much shit I can get done on Friday.

B. Been driving for only like half-year

Oh and, Math 260=Precalc at Community Colleges :(

B, I'm going and I can take you along. Is there any way you could get to my side of the city, though, so we could just hop on the 405 from here?

Is anyone else coming from the LA/Santa Monica/Westside area, or passing through via the 405, so we can make this a larger carpool?

Ramus, PM sent.

Ugh, If I go, I was going to take the 405 toward Sacramento to connect CA-118. And I live like 10 minutes from West Hollywood
